Corporations spend time and money to influence government, because government has influence over governent.

It took time. Initially, corporations invested in politicians to gain tax benefits. Then, politicians found the could get far more cooperation (money) with regulations.

Politicians learn fast, regulation that costs companies, limit how much appreciation the politicians were shown. But, regulations that hamper competitors, allow companies greater profits - more favor falls on the politicians. Politicians aren't greedy enough to keep corporate executives from filling their own pockets (something that wouldn't happen to the same level with effective competitors).

When politicians found the magic formula, they were able to coopt companies that had been apolitical. Anyone note that Microsoft didn't have any lobbyist until after the anti-trust suit?

Does anyone really think we have reduced regulations by any significant amount? Has anyone seen the pile of regulations added every year?

Does anyone think that it is only Republican's that wallow in that trough?

If so, what have the Democrats fixed? Other than the favor of the medical industry, and health insurance providers....

Do you think typing in a bold blue font makes your worthless ramblings anymore persuasive?

Bush presided of over the housing disaster. End of story.

    You are mistaken, Colonel K.
