But china intervened and only nukes could havd pushed them back after that

I'm 59..... so I should have known that...... I might have twenty or thirty years ago..... but I forgot.... and I thank you for reminding me...........
Frankly.... I think we had better stuff available than the A-bomb and H-bomb though.... but we kept it hidden.........

I will go from memory also and we may both get it wrong

MacArthur did not seek a war with red china

But he wanted to drive the communists out of north korea and ignored signs that the chinese might attack

So he got careless and divided his forces north of the choson reservoir

When the chinese attacked they almost wiped us out

At that point macarthur wanted to attack china north of the yalu and truman didnt

It was the choice of limited or unlimited war

And unlimited war means nukes sooner or later
