In fact, BBC, like PBS and RT is an example of "State Funded Media". "The BBC is established under a Royal Charter[10] and operates under its Agreement with the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.[11] Its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee[12] which is charged to all British households, companies, and organisations using any type of equipment to receive or record live television broadcasts and iPlayer catch-up.[13] The fee is set by the British Government, agreed by Parliament,[14] and used to fund the BBC's radio, TV, and online services covering the nations and regions of the UK. Since 1 April 2014, it has also funded the BBC World Service (launched in 1932 as the BBC Empire Service), which broadcasts in 28 languages and provides comprehensive TV, radio, and online services in Arabic and Persian." what the hell does that got to do with the honesty of the reporting of PBS? You tube in response to foreign influence in the last presidential campaign has decided to identify sources that may not be readily apparent as state sponsored. And if you don't think that commericial news networks are mouthpieces for their sponsors or corporate owners I don't know what to tell you. If you think Fox, CNN or Msnbc represent mainstream America, they are the ones who are trying to persuade public opinion and not report the news and have you decide. WGN is supposed to be starting a new national news network with the aim of trying to play it straight down the middle, lets hope that they can follow thru.
What school educates on sexual behavior. The only sexual behavior I ever seen espoused by public schools was abstinence. They teach reproductive health and some biology that kids see everyday between dogs. Parents that oppose education are ignorant themselves. These are the same people that want creationism taught as science and not religion.
Yes, because how dare we teach children they could cause an unwanted pregnancy at 12-13 years old (sometimes younger). We should rely only on the parents, many of which are asleep at the wheel. What could go wrong?!
Same with FOX. Cable news is all BS. Well, mostly BS. Back when I had cable, I found switching between FOX and CNN actually gave a reasonably accurate representation of reality most of the time. That was a few years before Trump tho. Prolly worse now.
Tucker Carlson is a conservative commentator talk show host, he doesn't report the news. He doesn't claim to be a journalist on his show.
PBS does nothing to justify government funding. There are plenty of other media outlets that give you the same drivel.
Fox News' story about the Trump fan and fake veteran: https://www.thedailybeast.com/pro-trump-war-hero-featured-on-fox-news-never-actually-served
The worst lie producers are still the Russikies with their "RT": https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/sep/15/lies-russia-rt-salisbury-suspects-putin
That is a pretty awkward and verbose definition. A two word term like "fake news" is easily defined by using a dictionary.
Again: Government sponsored media = propaganda. Hence the need for the warning notice. Why would anyone, especially a thinking progressive leftist trust "State Funded Media"?
Let's be fair to the honest folks who do their best to provide facts for the independent thinker to analyze. Independent media is a good thing. Information Clearing House, The Gray Zone, Common Dreams and many more deserve credit for hanging in there against the odds.
