    Yes, come out shooting!

The state in error, through incompetent action, gross malpractice, insane malfeasance, is not entitled to administrative immunity.

Every bastard on the swat team needs to be fired, period!

I don't care how you got to the adderss, do your job!

Epic fail ending in the death of an innocent man.

    Unlawful orders, absolutely!

It's proven the cops, state, government, were wrong here.

    "Sorry dude", doesn't work here.

I think the problem we're seeing is that errors like this aren't punished.

Mistakes of this magnitude aren't accepted in the civilian world.

    No but.

It matters not why the (pick a professional) man is called to the job, do the job!

If you cannot do the job, cannot measure up, or meet basic standards, then pay the price!

Whenever the oil companies are hiring for offshore rigs many law enforcement officers here leave to make 3 years pay in one year or better. The oil companies even draw them from as far away as Dallas.

Can't blame them with the war on police.

The information received from dispatch was the only 'truth' that the police in the field possessed. Whatever info they had received was what they had to roll on. All of it should come out in the future, including body cam
    videos.

This is 'current events.' To summarize for those who can't put it all together, due to a prank a man was shot by police in his own home minding his own business. What's not to understand?

In some states a prank like that can be prosecuted as felony murder with the first cause being equal to all subsequent causes.

What is the point of the OP? Describing the events does not make the point. How about following forum rules?

    Somebody failed here.

    Break it out.

    Let us judge this death.

Where was the error and what and who caused it?

Subject #1. Dude lounging in his home. No guns in the house. Scratching his balls. Peaceful.

Subject #2. State agent acting on an anonymous tip.

Question #1 Who should pay with their life?

Between the two, god would pick the innocent.

    The cop failed his profession.

    Bull ****.

It’s apparent everyone but you understands what’s going on in the OP.

... as if playing video games is a crime warranting death by police shooting.

Police are trigger happy and shoot unarmed victims with impunity.

    I'm arguing professional culpability.

    The cop here failed.

Do you think the cop didn't fail?

No no. Think about it. A fireman rushes to an arson, runs over a child on the way.......

Hard to say. If the LE said to put his hands up and the man didn't, that is one thing. If however LE just start blasting as soon as he came to the door, as highly unlikely as that is, that is another.
