An very very odd thread to place in a pet/animal loving section of this website.

It's Animals and Pets - the forum rules don't stipulate you have to love them, otherwise don't post anything?

It just seem an odd posting an as others had already pointed out you are must must safer bringing in a dog of any breed into a household with children then another adult human being.

The leading cause of deaths of pregnant women are not dogs attacks but murder by the woman lover and father to be for example.

Who in their right mind would bring a stranger into the bosom of their family?

What, you mean that since those notional 'pregnant women' (I'm more interested in vulnerable children than adults; at least adults have the wherewithal and the physical strength to counter an attack?) are gonna be murdered anyway what does it matter if a few more get maimed or killed by dogs? Is it what you mean??

Who said anything about a stranger??????

Boyfriends and husbands are the danger not the family pet.

I fail to see the logic of that; I mean just because you have a violent bf or husband, why invite yet another threat into your home in the shape of a dangerous dog?

I am just suprised that the mother allowed that **** ass eating drunk loser to carry the kids coffin in the first place. Drunks like that need to be killed...not jailed literally killed before they cause harm to other people.

LOL there are ten of millions of dogs in our family homes with no problem at all resulting, and once more the odds are far far far more likely to have deaths or injures from humans members of households then from the pets.

[IMG] Yes, but they're not all dangerous breeds are they? I suspect it might raise the odds a bit if they were, don't you? Would you choose to have a dangerous breed in your home?

I think there should be several tiers of what sort of animal you are permitted to own. We don''t let just anyone have lions or tigers yet some of these mastiffs people have are every bit as dangerous

footnote once we have a neighbor visiting with his two kids and when the man went to hit his kids for 'misbehaving' our family dog the love kids took to the air headed in his direction an I was just able to catch the dog in mid air to keep him from being attack.

Telling him not to hit the kids with our dog around unless he gave me some warning to be able to control the family dog.

From that time on the dog never was friendly to the neighbor even those he was friendly to ever one else who would visit the family.

Once more it is very very rare to have a family pet harm a member of a household compare to the risks of human members of households doing so.

We have banned breeds here but seeing as the law isn't enforced, anyone can choose to have them . . . and many do. Mind you it's always the morons who want them.

So blood fracking what? This idea that we should all be perfectly accepting of the occasional baby being eaten by some monster dog because it's really relatively rare seems crazy to me. It may happen next to no time but to the child eaten once is enough.

I simply do not understand this dog fetish, whether they're dangerous or not. On a walk yesterday nearly every person I saw had a dog; some had more than one.

One would think so, wouldn't one, but they seem to want to risk it. Pity their children for having morons for parents.

The most dangerous breed of animal by far to have around your children according to the numbers are humans.

For myself at 70 I have had every breed of dog in my life from early childhood to my current age with out a problem other then as a kid my mother would get annoy that when roughhousing with one of the family dogs my clothing would sometime get rip.

What utter drivel! Have you ever known a human being to tear chunks of flesh out of a child with their teeth? Jeez!

Right now I have two dogs in the family one from finding him sitting in a busy roadway as a puppy an the other I took in when I found him protecting a friend of mine who had pass away days before from a heart attack.

Needed to shut him in a bedroom so the police and rescue could deal with his human.

Hell you do not read the papers when they report on some human nut case serous killer or other?

Once more humans by the numbers are far far more likely to be a threat to children then are family pet.

So anything that could harm children no matter how unlikely and rare should be ban?

Interest world trying to made the world completely safe from any possible harm.

For one things under your zero risk program is that we should ban all adult males from being allow to live in the same household as young children given they are many many times more of a risk to children then family pets.

And I'm a gun grabber too, so watch out.

By you logic anybody should be able to have anything " Dreadfully sorry my lion got loose and ate your family, really should have better locks on these apartments, don't you think? but it happens so rarely, toodles.",
If your dog hurts or kills somebody they should put you in a pit with 6 of the biggest and best who haven't eaten in a week and make everybody watch

Anything????? Come on having a dog or dogs in your family is by the numbers very safe not comparable to firearms for example.

Dogs and humans have a long long history dating back tens of thousands of years an current theories even indicate that dogs and men had have strong effects on easy other evolution before we become modern mankind.

Once more if you wish to protect children you should begin by removing the far greater danger of adult males in the households of children to say nothing of firearms that are likely to had been brought into the homes by the adult males.
