Fauci Now Says COVID-19 Vaccine May Become Mandatory I'm the wrong person to whom to say that. On the first day that my state opened vaccination to 70+ citizens I tried to get an appointment. The website for the appointments doesn't work. The process for making appointments by phone wasted 1/2 hour of my time speaking with someone who didn't speak English only to learn that she couldn't make me an appointment. My emails to the governor have gone unanswered. Perhaps Dr. Fauci can convince the government to give up distribution of the vaccines to the private sector. Mandatory my ass. What a fool.
it will become mandatory if you want to do certain things, is what he said, just like traveling to other countries often requires one get vaccines pre-covid it's ones choice though, but if they refuse, they may not be able to do what they want to do "According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, some institutions will undoubtedly require employees to be vaccinated, adding that it’s “quite possible” the vaccine will be required for overseas travel" if you say want to work in a nursing home, you may be required to get the vaccine or not be allowed on the premises
I didn't vote for Trump either time, and I'm very well aware that the recent election results in several states were definitely manipulated.
you can not support this statement. every investigative body that looked at it, from trumps DHS, trumps DOJ, trumps Attorney General, Republican secretaries of state, Republican governors, all 50 state election commissions, every single court it's been in front of, republican appointed judges, trump appointed judges and all 9 supreme court justices have told you it wasn't manipulated. Are all of the above conspiring to install a democrat to the presidency?
Well -- BACK ON TOPIC -- it is very likely that in the coming months (as vaccines become more readily available AND trustworthy) it will become more likely that in order to do 'this' or 'that', a citizen will have to prove that he/she has been properly and fully vaccinated. We'll see these protocols introduced gradually, such as vaccine requirements before getting on an airplane, going inside entertainment venues, government buildings, etc., and the progressing outward to envelop restaurants, shopping malls, supermarkets, and all the rest of it. This is not (NOT) necessarily a 'bad' thing! Mandatory vaccination can (CAN) be a very beneficial thing for the entire country -- so long as the vaccines are, indeed, TRUSTWORTHY. At this point, in late January, more Americans do have confidence in the vaccines, but many do not, and that's just the truth.
I can support this statement because there are many statisticians and mathematicians who have testified as to the highly irregular data gathered during the voting analysis. More, there are many, at least hundreds, of affidavits from those involved in the process regarding voter fraud. Solid records showing dead people voting. That the courts were not persuaded simply shows something I've known for decades--the courts are (sadly) as corrupt as the other 2 branches of government.
you can not support your statement. Courts threw out every affidavit presented to them as irrelevant, or factually incorrect. There were no statistical or mathematical irregularities in this election. So you are then claiming for the record that trumps DHS, trumps DOJ, trumps Attorney General, Republican secretaries of state, Republican governors, all 50 state election commissions, every single court it's been in front of, republican appointed judges, trump appointed judges and all 9 supreme court justices are conspiring to install a democrat to the presidency? <COMMENTS EDITED>
You act as though courts are all honorable. I know better. It makes me sad to know that the courts are as corrupt as they are, but there is ample evidence for the open-minded. Madison's ideal that the judiciary would be the last bulwark against tyranny is noble, but has been trashed as extremely unrealistic over the decades. Today's situation shows it again.
greedy corporatism is the death of capitalism, IE excessive foreign outsourcing and excessive foreign imports - republicans are against our government equalling the playing field for American workers
I do agree, until everyone that wants them has access, forget those that refuse to take them many of us want the shot, give it to those people first
how exactly does a government do that and when is it the role of govt to do that? Capitalism is what made this nation grow and the USA is the land of opportunity, not guarantees. What one does with the opportunity is entirely upon the individual.
if you don't like capitalism and want socialism, then not doing anythign to stop greedy corporations from excessive foreign outsourcing and excessive foreign imports is the way to kill capittalism
Occasionally, we do get glimpses of truth in claims about "excessive foreign outsourcing". Example: in the news today was a sidebar-category story about how a fire in a vaccine plant in India had killed five people. But, here's what caught my eye -- this 'vaccine plant' is the Serum Institute of India, located in Pune, India. It is a wholly-owned, private, unlisted subsidiary of Poonawalla Investment and Industries. And guess what? This Serum Institute of India is now in 'partnership' with AstraZenica, Novavax, and CodaGenix to make COVID-19 vaccines. In short, Serum Institute of India is the largest manufacturer of vaccines IN THE WORLD! And this happened how...? Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serum_Institute_of_India
Right on baby! And the results of such "persuasion".... cries of "MARK OF THE BEAST" in the streets! And guess what? Watching the increasingly, damn near religious fanaticism of some vaccine advocates, I'm starting to wonder a bit myself......
Oddly enough Jehovah's witnesses are not riding the tiger ... they could remind the prophecies in the Book of the Apocalypse o sustain the the End of the World [the Armageddon] is near ... repent!
Why are you so scared to state you think trumps DHS, trumps DOJ, trumps Attorney General, Republican secretaries of state, Republican governors, all 50 state election commissions, every single court it's been in front of, republican appointed judges, trump appointed judges and all 9 supreme court justices are conspiring to install a democrat to the presidency? <COMMENTS EDITED>
Nobody bitched and raised hell about the smallpox vaccine when it was required in the United States, and guess what? By 1972, smallpox was considered to have been completely ERADICATED in this country. By 1980, it was no longer considered to be a threat anywhere in the world. Vaccines can, and have been, a very GOOD thing for humanity! It does remain to be seen how much actual 'good' these COVID-19 vaccine(s) will do, for how many people, and for how long. If/when enough people trust in the efficacy and relative harmlessness of them, we'll all probably get vaccinated -- perhaps much as we did for smallpox, back in the day....
huh? greed is good as it promotes competition and striving to improve. There is no finite amount of money and if you have 10 trillion dollars, it doesn't mean that i can't strive to also get 10 trillion dollars. I do not need to take it from you in order to try and get it myself. Also, if you don't like outsourced products, and are willing to pay a premium, then start your own business and/or only buy from local firms. Government has no role in that. And, look no further than environmentalists as to the reason why many businesses had to leave the USA. Watch fuel prices rise once the new regime starts targeting fossil fuels. Higher transportation costs and inflation, here we come.
Nowhere does it say that the government will make the vaccine mandatory. What he says is that some INSTITUTIONS may make it mandatory. I could see that a public or private university would require students to become vaccinated to attend. Same for faculty. What's the problem with this? I don't have a problem. If students don't like to attend a university with vaccination mandate, they can go somewhere else.
For people like myself who believe this vaccine is more likely to have a net negative effect, it's unwarranted discrimination, plain and simple. And ofcourse, if you -do- decide to get a vaccine due to really wanting to go to a university, or keep a job, and you get injured, you're on your own. Works great for both the vaccine companies and governments, works terribly for anyone who's injured or even killed by them... You can’t sue Pfizer or Moderna if you have severe Covid vaccine side effects. The government likely won’t compensate you for damages either | CNBC
Wild. My state is currently vaccinating 65 and older as well as 18 and older with high risk pre existing conditions and first responders (me). I got cold called offering me a vaccination which I told them to give to someone who needs it more than I. I guess it matters what state you live in. Federalism on display.
No doubt about that. It is even worse in some states where they are discarding doses because they can't find a proper government mandated recipient. That truly drives me up a wall. You did the right thing. Your chances of dying from it are near zero. My new plan is to show up at the vaccination site without a reservation just in case somebody didn't show. I would hate to see them throwing the stuff away.
