LOL, back in those days one never had to worry about keeping the sandwiches cold or put them in the fridge. I tried to remember how I came up with those combos, but no luck. I do know ever since then I eat them regularly.

But each of us have different tastes. Also fried tomatoes on toast ain't bad either. In fact it is awful good.

I like tomato on my grilled cheese and on most sandwiches. I wouldn't eat tomato and peanut butter though! Lol!

I eat about anything and everything, but for some reason I never cared for cheese. Weird.

No, never eat them. I ate all sorts of food in my ten years in southeast asia, from bugs, insects, to bat and stuff I had no idea. But cheese just turns me off off for some reason.

Anyway it bed time, you take care and until next time.

Well, I made the grilled cheese and poblano pepper sandwiches for dinner tonight, and they were delicious! I charred the peppers on my stove top (because I didn't feel like going out and starting the grill just for a couple peppers), and then I put them in a bowl and covered it with plastic wrap for about 20 minutes. Then, peeled the skin off the peppers (as much as I could get), then sliced them into strips and layered them on along with some Velveeta. Next time, I'm going to try another kind of cheese I think.

In N Out is okay. But if you are in No Cal, you have to try Togo's. Their hot pastrami is awesome. And the meatball sub is pretty darn good too.

Rueben. The hospital around the corner from where I live makes the best Ruebens and they are cheap--$7.

I think I replied to this a long time ago but I like BLTs and I like grilled cheese with bacon and tomato on it. Also cheddar cheese on the grilled cheese.

Hmm. I never really considered a hamburger or a cheeseburger a "sandwich" but I guess they kind of are sandwiches. They do have bread. Hamburger sandwich anyone?

I eat everything open-faced so technically I don't think anything other than grilled cheese is a sandwich on my plate :knifefork:

I still use two slices of bread on my sandwiches, but I have gotten rid of taco shells and I now eat tacos in a bowl. I sometimes crush up the taco shells or some tortilla chips in there too for the crunch. That is a way neater and more efficient way to eat tacos IMO!

I just use Fritos in my tacos when I eat them. I am starting to develop a wheat intolerance so I have to restrain myself. Open faced on toasted bread is about the only way I can eat bread and live to fight another day. I ate a bowl of mini-wheats, my favorite cereal, and thought I was going to drop dead earlier this week.

That sucks. My aunt has an egg allergy that she recently developed and now she can't eat anything with eggs in it. There are a LOT of things made with eggs too. I've been pretty lucky that I've never been allergic to anything (knock on wood) that I'm aware of.

Yep. It sucks, especially since I mocked people who say they have a wheat allergy. Karma is a female dog...

One of my favorite sandwiches, you start with an Everything bagel, a bit of mayo, rare roast beef special roasted, not off the shelf, sliced very thin, piled on, smoked mozzarella cheese, sliced very thin, a slice of tomato and a dash of tobasco sauce.

Sliced medium rare beef tenderloin with secret sauce on a grilled onion roll, piled high with with grilled onions, smothered in melted smoked gouda.

The secret sauce is as follows:

Take two Jack Daniels (4oz) and Coke's (12oz) (no ice) and put them in a saucepan with 8oz ketchup and a dash of cayenne pepper. Take another Jack and Coke, and drink it while waiting for the first two reduce, while stirring over medium heat, until thick.
