Of all your firearms which is your favorite, need to pick only one, and why? Mine is my trusty Springfield 1911, .45. Not as pretty as some of my others but reliable and accurate.
Ruger 10/22 scope to 200 yds. Since the ammo crunch, I take more time lining up the shot. I figure if needs be, I can use it to get heavier firepower. I can also carry 200 rds in my pockets, unlike larger caliber weapons.
A toss up. I love my old 870 super mag. That thing has been on the bottom of San Francisco bay twice and both times after dumping out the water it continued to work until I could get it home and cleaned. It is a beast that simply never quits. Easy to put the plug in for duck hunting, easy to swap out the barrels for home protection, all around a classic design. A couple of years ago I came into a new Versamax, deciding it was time to get a semi auto for hunting, and my old Remington 1100 is not meant to be int he environment I hunt in. I got the deal of the century on the gun, getting it for half of the MSRP, and at first i was a bit leery as it was a brand new design, but quickly I found that gun to be unbelievably reliable, hunting with 3.5" heavy steel loads in salt water in the morning, then going straight to the pheasant club and dropping in low brass 2 3/4" rounds. It did not miss a beat. The recoil is near nonexistent. Next gun I buy I am thinking a Kimber Stainless. There is a reason that 1911's have been around 100 years, and the Kimber is a fantastically well made and gorgeous version.
I love shooting my SKS. Lots of bang for the buck there! I just bought a Colt M4 last December that I'm warming up to. The Colt Woodsman .22 my dad left me is probably my favorite handgun, though I've stopped shooting it because it's in mint condition and is becoming a collectors item. I carry a Springfield XD .45 that I like very much. So... hard to choose just one. But... since you said to choose one: The SKS, at the moment. Fun to shoot, easy to clean, ammo is relatively cheap, makes a big bang, and puts big holes right where I want them to be. Whats not to love?
My old duty weapon-Browning BDA .45, made in the 70's by SIG under Browning patent (claimed by George Nonte as best combat handgun in the world at that time), discontinued about '79, now made exclusively under SIG logo. Unfortunately gone for economic reasons, and I miss it. Enjoy!
My personal preference, or the guns I like to own, would be along the lines of what i consider classics. By classics, I mean guns that are tested, guns that have been around a while and are still being made because they work. Out of those, this is what I have. Remington 870 Remington 1100. An early 60's model that I have put a modern barrel on, and in its life has less than 10 rounds through it. Wood stock, absolutely gorgeous. Ruger 10/22. Great little plinker. Marlin 336. Kicks like a mule, but I do want the 45/70 model too. AR15. Savage 110. My father's old hunting rifle in 30.06. Heavy, but it has killed a couple of hogs. When that bolt slides closed, it just feels like a solid gun. Remington 700. Just got it. Still have not fired it. On my dream list. M6. I don't think anyone is currently making them, but a nice little bug out gun. M1 Garand S&W model 69. Just because everyone needs a .44 Kimber Stainless II
I gave away my stainless steel / rosewood Smith and Wesson "ladysmith" .38, when I left the USA for a few months. I dont have a carry permit in this state. That gun seemed kind of fat to carry but it was super simple, none of those switches and levers and buttons. Its the only gun I have owned, Im not sure if I"d get another like it or something else.
I have the same gun but mine is not quite reliable enough, it tends to misfeed and jam occasionally. My favorite is my Colt 1991
S&W M&P Shield 9. The ULTIMATE CCW piece. A bit shy on ammo, but if I ever have to use it (I hope not), should be enough unless I'm up against an entire platoon. For the Zombie Apocalypse: S&W M&P 15, hands down. Just need more ammo.
That's a tough one. I am going to say that my Jericho 941 .40 S&W because it is my first gun and my most precious. But my AM-15 is a close second! Followed by my 20 gauge 870 and my .22
Hmm... Only Dental Floss said which AR-15 he has. There is as much difference between them as there is between a S&W revolver and the Taurus knock-off. My little collection doesn't consist of "favorites" as much as the collection that preceded it. I built what amounts to my "ultimate" 10/.22, only to find that long range shooting with sub-sonic ammo is much too tedious. The fun was in bedding the action and barrel to do what I set out to do. That one worked, so I made up another, to see how light I could make a "very" accurate 10/.22. That worked, and as it turns out, I maybe prefer my stock CRR carbine. All 3 together amount to what a 10/.22 is to me. If not for the ammo drought, I'd still be shooting 15,000 rounds/year from them. My AR is a peculiar thing. It started as the ArmaLite M15 A4 SPR. I made what I consider to be necessary changes. This includes the free float hand guard, Magpul grip, Geissele DMR trigger, Nikon 6~18 Buckmasters scope in ARStoner mounts, and after this image, the Streamlight TLR-1 light. It was built to be a varmint rifle, but I don't shoot varmints anymore. It's the most symbolic of all modern firearms, IMO, and it has meaning to me in that way.
That's a tough question... First thing that came to mind was my first handgun, a Ruger Redhawk in 41 Mag. But then I really enjoy shooting my Beretta 92 FS. Fired thousands of rounds and never a failure of any kind, and it is smooth. My Springfield 1911 A1 is another one that is totally dependable. Rifles? Would be my AR15 and then the 10/22. Fun, Fun, Fun.
This is like asking me which of my children is my favorite. If push came to shove it would probably have to be my Remington 700 (circa 1981) in .270. It's been my main hunting firearm since I've gotten it. I've long lost count of how many big game taken with it over the years but it's pushing 100.
I've never actually shot a Ruger Mark 3 before, but it can't be much different than the Mark II's, and I do love my Mark II. It definitely makes my top 10 and possibly my top 5 favorite guns I own. I'm also in the market for an AR, kind of unbelievable I don't have one yet.
My SF M1A Scout along with my Ruger 1911, both are great fun to shoot and fit for anything they need to tackle.
I love my Ruger 1911, every bit as much as my Gold Cup. Actually I love all my Rugers, lol. Seriously thinking of getting the Ruger Commander 1911 next. If I had to go favorite handgun though, it'd be my Ruger Blackhawk in 44 special.
I also have a Ruger 10/22 SA rifle, a SP101 in .327 mag (the wifes) and my first Ruger a Super Blackhawk SA in .44mag. Big fan of Rugers, never had any of them malfunction and all can take a beating and keep on kicking.
That's a good shot of the AR10-T, but I find it a bit comical that only one of the cases all around it are the right caliber for the rifle! (next to the right leg of the bipod) Every other one is 5.56! But this perfectly illustrates why I don't want an AR10. Cost of feeding. Also, I can't understand why anyone would put a quad rail on an AR10. Just the rifle is already about 10 lbs. What are you gonna' hang on there? The AR10-T comes with exactly the same hand guard as is shown on mine above. This makes much more sense to me, because you can order short rail sections that mount on the bottom, or in any of the slots in the hand guard. Everything adds weight. My M15A4 weighs just a little more than my friends' POF AR10, with his 16" barrel. I have the Ruger .22/45 stainless target model, and it kinda' just fills the place that would otherwise be empty without it. The attached is my AR with the optional rail for the light, using a different scope than the one that lives there
A Rubber band. Wait what? That doesn't count? Well, how about a tomato launcher? Still doesn't work for you? Okay, I guess I'll go with BB Gun. I actually had one as a kid. I even remembered it had a safety and stuff, but, bad brain, I can't even remember how it worked. I haven't used one in years. I used it to shoot cans in the woods. That got boring really fast! I dislike higher power weaponry and have no use for it. I don't own a gun now.
