For me, it has to be the Jak and Daxter video game series. I know it seems like a cheesy kiddy video game series, but I'll explain why I like it much more than most time travel fictional stories. I'm not trying to focus on giving a summary of the series, but I'll explain the basic events and how they fit into the series being my favorite time travel story in fiction. If you've ever played the game/series before, you'd know the events I'm talking about.

The first game had a cartoony feel, with a young protagonist and friend doing platformer game stuff and living with a wise mentor figure and his daughter, eventually going on to defeat the villians and saving the world-cliche story ( the game is similar to a Mario or Crash bandicoot game), but then in the next game, a time travel gate is discovered, the peaceful platformer old world is invaded by an alien race and he goes to the future in a city, where he saves the world from them, meets the younger selves of people later revealed to be Samos and himself, and sends them back in time, continuing the cycle of events in a loop.

At the end of the 3rd game, after defeating another set of villians, he finds out that the king of the city he was banished to, damas, was his father.

It's not just the basic time travel story that is fascinating-its everything put together.

As TV Tropes said, because of a time loop, the first and second games are both prequels and sequels to each other. The second game is also a prequel to the first, and the Precursor Legacy is actually a sequel to Jak 2 (its what happens after young Jak and Samos go through the gate after the metalhead leader dies-they.)

His father sent one of the characters from the second game to find his young son in the city, but ironically he ended up meeting his older version, not realizing it was him. Young Jak was sent centuries in the past to start the events of Jak 1, and was lost forever to both Sig and Jak's father, but his older self was there all along. He arrived from the past after saving the world then, and ironically, before he arrived in the future, he set into motion the events (metalheads invading) that led to the future world being the hellhole it is in Jak 2 and 3-the war with the metalheads, etc.

The time loop was fascinating. Going back and playing the first game, where you realize he landed there from the depressing future of the second game, his younger self in the future was taken care of by the evil villian in the future who would later invade the old world (because of him), and after meeting his friends from the past (Daxter and Keira), it's rather interesting to think he met their older versions as a kid in the city.

Are there any time travel stories you find to be very fascinating?
