Who are your favorite presidential candidates that ran for the presidency and lost?. My favorite are Barry Goldwater,Ross Perot,Al Smith,John Fremont.
Hmm... I do not know them all well enough to choose one or just a couple favorites. Nonetheless, there were Presidential elections in which I would have most liked one of the following folks to win: Eugene Debs, Robert La Follette, Norman Thomas, Wendell Willkie, Vincent Hallinan, Carey Kefauver, William Symington, Eugene McCarthy, Benjamin Spock, Barry Commoner, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Tom Harkin, Mary Hollis, Walter Brown, Ralph Nader, and Jill Stein.
Goldwater and Perot are at the top of my list too. Going back into history I would say Henry Clay, he ran for the presidency three times, 1824, 1832 and 1844 and lost all three times.
