That is most unfortunate as this latest ruling will greatly prevent many elderly, sick, and minority citizens who do not currently have an ID from voting. Many who work long hours and who live in cities and towns that do not have a state office to obtain a card simply cannot travel by bus or have a friend drive them over two-hundred miles to get to the nearest Department of Motor Vehicles office and still find it open in order to obtain one and then have to pay a charge that they may not be able to afford just to get the process rolling, a charge that amounts to nothing other than a poll tax. But guess who brought that about? The VERY CONSERVATIVE Fifth Court of Appeals. Just another example of how Conservatives are foaming at the mouth at the thought of having minorities exercise their right to vote, since they mainly vote for Democrats, so much so, that they have presented encumbrances once again to desperately keep them from voting in November, which of course, GREATLY Helps Their Side without a doubt. So, there you have it. And unless the U.S. Supreme Court steps in before November 4th to reverse this travesty of a decision, many voting citizens will again be disenfranchised at the ballot box. That can only mean even more reason for those who can go vote to vote against those who are making it harder on others to vote.

That will be wonderful, Chairman. The drop in turnout due to voter ID will be obvious and the leftists will have thousands of people with stories they can tell on television and the most exciting part is neither of those things have ever happened anywhere with Voter ID laws.

Liberals lie. It's the only trick they've got in their box of hammers.

You're saying the elderly and sick don't have IDs? Did they not have ID's before they became old and sick? You can renew an ID online without leaving your home.

Of course for those rich Republicans that's always the answer since they all have computers. But we're talking about elderly and sick people most of whom are poor and living on a fixed income therefore not able to buy a computer for several hundred dollars and then be trained on how to use it in order to be able to do that.

I believe the time has come for the Department of Motor Vehicles to create a new office with personnel who travel directly to those who are elderly or ill and who cannot get out to get a new ID or to renew it and help them to obtain it. That would be the best thing that could happen for our elderly and sick citizens who want to vote but can't because they do not have computers or do not drive anymore and are disabled in some way. But since there is not an office in every city and many would have to drive hundreds of miles in order to obtain an ID, the DMV should simply mail them a form they could have notarized and witnessed and then simply mail it back and the department should also waive any fees for obtaining a new ID or a renewal for the elderly, the sick and disabled and those who after showing proof that they cannot afford the fees. As for the picture, that would be the only thing that the citizen would have to take which could be done at their home by a family member or guardian and mail that back along with the notarization and witness signatures attesting under perjury that it is of the person actually applying. That would sure help to get many more citizens to the polls on voting day!

The fact of the matter is that everyone else and I know that those who are rich obviously own more than those who are not. And since computers are not cheap those who have the means own more and are far more capable of making more expensive purchases than those who don't have the means.
