Trump brought forth executives from Walgreens, Target, Walmart, and CVS, with a promise that, across the nation, the parking lots of these companies’ stores would soon be filled with drive-through testing locations to identify and isolate those with COVID-19. Of course, this was the same press conference where Trump announced a website under development by “1700 engineers at Google”

As NPR reports, federal funding for testing sites will end on Friday. That includes sites in some of the hardest-hit areas of the country that are engaged in testing thousands of Americans. Come Friday, federal funds—and federal contracts—will be withdrawn, leaving states and localities without the materials or labs necessary to conduct and process the tests.

testing IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET safely BACK TO WORK. But, Trump does not intend to do it safely, so testing must end. Barr signaled that we will requestion the sheltering at home, in may. So, end testing, and claim that now we are winning, and Trumps miracle drug is making those that are infected, sniffling a little.

So, states will have to pay the full freight for testing, from here on out. Even though, trump said, anyone that wants a test can get a test. And the drive thru areas never happened, and the Google site NEVER happened. But, if we come in under the number of deaths TRUMP MADDDDDDDDDDE up, then He is doing a GREAT job, and we can get back to work, unless you are a blue state, and then you must hide from red state scofflaws forever.

KOS, NPR, fake news until better sourcing, probably fake news then too. Even on the slight chance if reasonably true, testing for this is utterly ineffective, as many -real- scientists, not bureaucrats and MSM goons have been clearly stating all along.

There isn't a test for COVID, despite the constant concealment of that and mewling from ignorant and lying LW, the regular Corona test is worthless and a waste of time and money. No, you aren't going to shut down the economy even more while you test for the common cold. Sorry.

The fallback position, as this crooked MSM/Complex-bureaucrat HOUSE OF SMOKE AND MIRRORS shatters further and very quickly, is not going to be "slow the economy even more with unnecessary, onerous testing" as much as scumbags and creeps would like it to be.

Normally the doom-begging, obfuscating, panic making and infinite LYING from the LW is nauseating enough, this is way over the line.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services tells NPR, "Many of the Community-Based Testing Sites (CBTS) are not closing, but rather transitioning to state-managed sites on or about April 10."

The agency and a spokesperson for FEMA say the CBTS program originally included 41 sites. It was intended as a stop-gap to bring testing to critical locations, especially for health care facility workers and first responders.

"The transition will ensure each state has the flexibility and autonomy to manage and operate testing sites within the needs of their specific community and to prioritize resources where they are needed the most," the HHS spokesperson said.

A month ago Trump said anyone who wanted a test could get one

Then he said that 27 million tests would be administered by the end of March.

    What's the date today?

South Korea is doing well. Any idea how many tests they have administered?

    As of March 25

Based on the available data and the population of each country, 1 in 142 South Koreans and 1 in every 786 Americans have been tested for the coronavirus.

Can you quote him saying that?

he White House promised an ever-increasing number of coronavirus tests would be available by the end of the month, saying the number of available test kits could be as high as 27 million. But tracking analysts say only about 1 million total tests have been administered nationwide.
    See how they spin it?
    https://www.newsweek.com/white-hous...tests-end-march-us-just-hit-1-million-1495356

Tests available is not the same as test done....

    Read past the headlines.

    More

    Giroir
"We promised 1 to 4 million. There's 10 million tests that are in the market now," he said. "But not every lab can run every test, and not every test is self-contained. So the important question is not how many tests are on the market but to make sure that every segment of the market has the kind of tests that they can use."

Then of course Newsweek goes to of all things a " liberal think tank" for "news"
