The latest ethical dilemma, as science advances towards a dystopian future.

Harvest the live brains from aborted babies, keep the brains alive in special nutrient tanks, and plug wires into the brain so it can serve as the core of a computer network.

Some big ethical dilemmas here? Apparently not. The unborn are not considered actual "people", and so long as the brain is not allowed to grow bigger or develop, many will not consider it "human".

Imagine that poor baby's soul trapped in such an existence. It might even develop some semblance of self-consciousness.

Apparently there is a lot of potential for this technology since a human brain is said to have 23 trillion times more potential computing capacity than a supercomputer.

Baby Brains May Be the Secret to Smarter Computers

The researchers foresee childlike computers that could interact more intelligently and responsively with humans, resulting in better computers.

This video does not involve entire brains but uses brain cells

So are we "okay" with this?

What's the big deal? No different from using rat or monkey brain cells.

Eventually they are going to start using bigger segments of brain.

There is significant potential here in the advancement of prostheses.

I'm very much OK with that objective.
