Macron tried to control a rogue American President who is bent on doing serious harm to the American economy along with the economies of the EU and other U.S. allies. Trump's tariff policy is so intolerable he can't even defend it. Over the past several weeks he has said nothing about the policy despite the enormous criticism he is receiving.
