It would appear through telescopes that planets are spheres. Though you must remember, appearance is not always what it seems. And the planets have nothing to do with the shape of earth, or earth in general. There is not one comparable planet to earth. No life, no water, no mankind, etc etc. Nothing up there is anything like what your standing on. To claim so, is nothing more than a claim.

Your arguments have a complete lack of logic but that's ok because you use the bible to back up your nonsense.
Do I look at the stars for the shape of the ground I'm standing on, no, others have done that before me and can explain it better than I. What kind of thinking would equate a round living room light with the floor? That's not apples and oranges, that's just FU thinking. The driving thing? I mean really, WTF is that?! That doesn't make sense but you know what does? Looking at the sky and seeing all the round objects in the universe. Common sense tells you the earth is round. Math tells you the earth is round. We are at the point in our history that the science cannot be disputed that the earth is round. Check that, you can dispute it, but you look like a fool.
If the sun is so close, how far away are the other planets? Voyager has just recently passed out of our solar system and they know how fast it's going and how long it took to get where it is. Do you have an explanation for that?

Ok, so you don't believe the Bible because men wrote it, and here you are believing a book men wrote about the stars. They even told you they have flying things that go out into the vast infinite universe, and people who even walked on the moon.

You can believe that all you want. I'll take the Bible, which was written by God, through man.

It would seem to me, that your belief of what "they" tell you, is true (your belief anyways). But on your own, you have no certain way of knowing. That's "blind faith". Congratulations!

The driving was something I wrote assuming (yes I admit "assuming), you like all the others would of said, "what about circumnavigation"? Which has been done from east to west, but never north to south (or vice versa) directly over the alleged poles. There is claim that it has been done, but when noticing the route taken, by far it has not been done.

Voyager, Curiosity, Hubble, etc, etc,...........................YEAH OK! Hey it's your story, tell it how you want.

Actually, I do believe science is a good thing. The difference between you and I is, I know what "science" is, you don't.

Have you read any of the links I posted in this thread? Something tells me, that's a rhetorical question.

He bases his argument on a department store decoration? I'm going to need video of the edge. If it exists, we should have seen it by now.

There is a book named "Spray" written by Joshua Slocum. He was a square-rigger captain during the last years of the nineteenth century and is credited with being the first person to sail alone around the World in a small boat. In his book, he says he met people in South Africa during the first years of the twentieth century that still believed the World was flat. Persistence of that belief must be a product of public education.

Public Education; Anytime a person or group of people, hand you an award for learning, it's because you learned what they wanted you to. Congratulations here ya go! It's like putting somebody on an island, and giving them all the 3-4 year old children. This person can then tell them, there is no more land, this is all there is of earth. And they would not only believe it, but live it.

Oh, and the flat earth can be circumnavigated from east to west or vice versa. Can you picture a dinner plate, and move your finger around it, until your finger comes back to the place it left? Is that possible?

I am reminded of the movie "Waterworld" and the lack of explanation as to where the Earth found enough water as to reach most of the way up Mount Everest.

Sure, you can go any way you want around a dinner plate, but the fun comes when you get to the edge. You know, a flat planet would exhibit some interesting gravitational changes as you move across it.

This was amusing at first but it is clear that reality cannot penetrate your......."logic". Like you said "It's your story, tell it how you want" but the problem is I believe people like you are not only ignorant, you're dangerous.

What makes you think I'm dangerous?

While I understand it's easier said than done, I believe I would lay down my life before taking another, even that of my enemy. Can you explain how I am dangerous?

It’s not taught because it’s flawed. I found nothing out there proving the Sun is only 3000 miles away. There is material showing that if you assume a flat Earth, the Sun would need to be around 3000 miles away but that model is inconsistent with other observations and measurements (not least because it means the Sun would be a significantly different distance from different points on the surface of the flat earth).

So teach me otherwise. Show us the actual evidence to support your alternative hypothesis, whatever it was that convinced you against the information you were provided in school.

jrr777 doesn't do evidence, analysis or rational thought. He merely asserts. He's certainly entertaining for a time, then he becomes quite boring.

The evidence is you don't feel yourself spinning, not even moving. The surface of water is always flat, it's one of the world's best tools for "leveling". Now from these two alone, you have decided to go against your own senses, in regards to the words of men.

You would say, "you don't feel yourself spinning, because you are in constant motion with the earth". Any given point on the earth has to travel 25,000 miles, in 24 hours. At the equator, that turns out to be, 1,048 mph. If you was in a car traveling 1,048 mph, and you just slightly turned the wheel, what are the consequences?

The speed of sound is 767 mph, the earth spins at 1,048 mph, making the rotation of the earth 281 mph faster than the speed of sound. While it travels around the sun at 67,000 mph, and the sun traveling at 483,000 mph, and the milky way at 1.3 million mph. And they are all dancing circles around one another. Hello?

Now how far does nasa claim their furthest satellite is from earth. Voyager 1, which is zipping along at 38,000 mph (61,000 km/h), is currently 11.7 billion miles away from earth.

So if at 38,000 mph for 40 years, Voyager 1 is 11.7 billion miles away, than how far would the sun travel at 483,000 mph in 40 years, and why do we see the same stars? How are the stars still positioned at certain times of the year, within the same small holes of the pyramids, and other ancient structures? How is that even possible? The answer is very easy when the heavens revolve around an immovable earth.

As an example, it's people like you who have their own "science" that don't believe in vaccines.

I believe in God, not vaccines. Vaccines exist, but that's no reason to "believe" in them. What does that even mean?

Vaccines are antidotes for government experiments gone wrong. Playing around with biological weapons, and viruses, can only lead to bad things. Unless of course your the government of such things, because then you have simply created "Big Pharmacy", at the expense of people's lives. These bastards would simply say, "good trade cowboy"!

How is it exactly that you "know" vaccines are needed? Because I would absolutely agree that "some" are, but that doesn't make me correct! I would think measles, small pox, and a few more would be needed, but the amount that is required is far more than what is needed.

And how is it such vaccines can be researched to determine "long-term" effects. How do they know 50 or 100 yrs down the road these "vaccines" don't cause more problems than they allegedly solved?

That's explained by gravitational theory, consistent with all the other phenomena influenced by it. That's actually one of the many things a flat earth would need to be different somehow.

That would only cause issues because of contact with the ground. Travelling in a plane is a better comparison. You don't feel the general velocity when you're flying in a jet, only significant changes to it (that Earth isn't subject to on the same scale).

Because the distance to the nearest stars is many, many times the distance travelled by the Solar System (plus those stars are moving in similar directions anyway). On a galactic scale, our solar system hasn't moved very far in the period we've have recorded observations for.

There are no small holes in pyramids that exactly line up with any stars. There are some ancient structures which roughly do and some of them align better if you take account of the predicted small changes in the angle of Earth's axis.

Incidentally, none of those concepts are about proving flat earth, not even about disproving a round one, only challenging established conclusions in various fields. Even if any of your points were correct, it wouldn't necessarily require a flat earth to resolve them. I'm not claiming any of my answers prove a round earth either, only that none of your challenges are in any way definitive. If you really wanted to support a flat earth hypothesis, you'd follow the scientific process you claim to like; actually presenting that hypothesis in sufficient detail and presenting positive evidence to support it.

Thank you for proving my point.
Your post is nothing but the meaningless ramblings of someone not in touch with reality. You should leave your mother's basement more and get out in the world. On second thought.........

A claim in which seems to be an attempt to show that you know everything. Such as me living in my parent's basement. Now, you not knowing weather or not my parent's are even alive, seems to put a damper on the theory that, "you know everything".

If your traveling east, your traveling with the rotation of the planet. When traveling west, why doesn't the arrival of destinations become faster? Your going against the rotation of the earth.

They say a bullet needs to factor in the "coriolis effect" for an accurate long distance shot. The theory explains that once the bullet leaves the barrel it is no longer traveling with the rotation of the earth. Is the coriolis effect able to pick and choose objects it effects? Because if you hover over the ground in a helicopter, your destination will not arrive. What about the bullet?

And thanks for your appropriate reply, very polite as well.

I never said or implied that I know everything. Again, it's your reality. You asked and answered your own question. I can say this. I don't know everything, but I know more than you.

Because we're moving with it. The plane example applies again; if you walk down the aisle of a moving plane, you don't get to the front faster than the rear (or at least not by any kind of amount that we could possibly notice).

No, the bullet is still travelling with the Earth's rotation, the Coriolis effect is in addition to that. It technically applies to everything but it imperceptible in most situations. It's an interesting counter-point though. There are plenty of examples of the Coriolis effect which would all need explaining in any flat earth hypothesis.

(facepalm) You can't be serious with these questions.
Let's take your helicopter. If what you say is true, now think about this, and the earth is rotating beneath you.......how strong are the winds in your scenario? Think about that and your plane going west.
You know what, make it easy on yourself and just google your question.

Could you please help me. Understand the following experiment which we can all do

We start with a boat on a large calm lake... a Great Lake, or the salt lake would do

We get a laser, mount it on a tripod, aim it at a visible part of the boat on the lake

Now, we start sailing the boat into the lake...while keeping the laser spot on the boat visible

Now, if the earth is flat, the lake will be flat, and no matter how far away from the shore the boat moves, the laser spot will remain at the same height on the boat

However, if the earth is a ball, then the lake is not flat and as you sail away from shore, the laser spot will rise higher

Ok.... the question is WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE SPOT?

We can do this experiment and agree that whom ever is wrong will pay all expenses for doing the experiment.... and also the person who is wrong will announce their error on this forum

Is this app ok for you?
