.,,"It's not rocket science. I mean, people are watching and they understand that leadership matters," Moody said. "We don't just watch as things break down or things aren't going right. We do something about it."

Florida, which has a Republican governor in Ron DeSantis, increased its population by 211,000 people between July of 2020 and the same month last year, while New York and California, both run by Democrats, lost 319,000 and 261,000 residents, respectively, during the same time period, according to Census Bureau data from released earlier this year.

Moody explained that when "we saw other states cramming down on their citizens and taking away their rights, we did something about it. You know, this is a government of the people. They want to make sure those that they elect to office have their backs. And in Florida, we've got their backs."

She added, "When we saw people not respecting cops and other folks defunding their police, we gave them raises….

What the NewsMax reporter reported on what the Florida AG said in a news maker interview on Fox News is exactly right. That is exactly what she said. She explained well why people are leaving California and New York and moving to Florida.

I’m glad that she made those comments and that both NewsMaxTV and Fox News reported on what she said.

I don’t care. If they do both actually run I will support the nominee between the two. If Biden doesn’t run again and Newscum does, then I’m all in for De Santis. Against Biden, Clinton, Warren, Sanders, or Harris, I want Trump.

They move to be among their own tribe. Same reason people flock to northern Idaho from the Bay Area. It’s just tribalism. I assume there must be liberal Mecca where liberals move to from conservative states like Idaho, perhaps Bellingham Wa?

Well Boise is kind of liberal but the rest of the state can overwhelm the small majority of liberals in that one place. A lot of people fled blue states and moved to red ones over covid, the economy, and education. Some move from Texas to Washington state Seattle in particular over abortion and some other issues and Washington still is a no income tax state too.

Far from correct. They move there to escape the abuse of power from the Dems. They get to keep more of the fruits of their labor and the money buys more. California is a liberal mecca. Are people flocking to CA?

    Here's anotehr theory.

Folks in California are selling their homes, taking their exorbitant capital gains, and buying McMansions in podunk places in order to live like kings and queens and turning the local service workers into minimum wage serfs.

Somebody hasn't been to florida, I understand, it's expensive. I forget how California has no podunk's lol... The reason is clear why everyone is dumping the promiseland quickly turning into states for homeless and Mexico Northwest, for greener pastures.

People have been moving to Florida for decades. Ron DeSantis and his administration did not start that trend.

Moving to escape the abuse of power of Dems to an area that is more in-line with one’s own views is a fundamental aspect of tribalism. It is how sociological gravity pulls together the likeminded and the glue that holds a group together. Same applies to the migration of liberals seeking to escape what they perceive as conservative oppression.

While that is a factor, I believe that finances are a much bigger factor. There are plenty of right leaning parts of California. The only way to avoid the excessive taxation and unfriendly business environment is to leave the state. CA population is declining and the only ones flocking in are illegal immigrants.
