Florida fines businesses for demanding medical information from customers

Florida defending individual rights of people by fining businesses that think you're medical status is their business.

A $5000.00 fine for business owners demanding proof of vaccination. Hopefully this is a trend for other states.

My medical records aren't the business of any business.

 

Never in my life has a business asked me to prove I didn’t have herpes, AIDS, HIV, Ebola, TB, VD, the flu, whooping cough, or any other contagious disease. But then again, none of those diseases were ever used as political weapons.

 

Then do not go in the business, pretty simple.

THIS IS AMERICA. Individual Rights shall not be infringed upon.... well unless we get to many Democrats in power.

 

Why? It’s not the customer who’s gonna get hammered with a fine.

 

If you think about it, many of our laws, especially in CA and NY, exist just to tell you what you must do and what you must not do.

 

Demanding to see your vaccine card is just Democrats trying to resurrect their segregation.

Because it's all about discrimination against the black people. Since black people are less likely to get the vaccine.

 

It's not okay to say no blacks allowed even if you're saying no people that are unvaccinated allowed.

That's actually against the law.

Why do you want to support segregationists?

 

Yes and we ended segregation discriminating against the black people knowing that a higher percentage of them don't get the vaccine is just another way of creating the same discrimination they were guilty of in the 60s. It's a good thing that this governor nipped this one right in the bud.

 

Are HIPPA laws unclear?

 

It's not about safety it's about disparaging people that they disagree with.

Actually I think it should be legal to say "no blacks allowed", but that is for a different thread.

In this case it is not the same thing because vaccinated status is not a protected class, thus it is legal to discriminate against it

 

Private schools require proof of immunization

 

Not at all, HIPAA laws make your health records private. HIPAA is not being violated because the showing of the vaccine card is 100% voluntary.

 

As does every public university in the nation

 

No it isn't. Saying no unvaccinated people allowed is just an excuse to ban black people.

But they're just doing it to ban black people. Black people are less likely to be vaccinated.

All of this garbage about vaccine apartheid is just about race. Just the latest version.

If you look at everyone unvaccinated, it’s not disproportionately black people.

 

And all the private ones too I bet

 

Segregationists don't care the point is keeping black people out even if it means you scoop up some other races in the group.

Why would you support the business demanding to see your medical history?

What if I own a deli and I demand to see whether or not you have HIV do you have any right to do that?

 

So what? Let the free market decide.

 

I’d go to another deli. But you can’t get hiv from a lunch counter, so that’d be weird

 

So let the free market decide whether or not black people are allowed to enter establishments?

The Civil Rights act put an end to that you can't do that anymore.

 

If you're vaccinated you can't get covid from an unvaccinated person so it's just as weird.
