I keep hearing about how most adult, parents aren't "qualified" to educate their own kids by way of homeschooling.

    Ok.

So, if I follow your train of thought back to these parents own schooling, from start to finish, what your truly saying is, is that the adult parents of today didn't get a good enough education within the government run public school system, to even be able to teach their own kids.

Yet, all of you will fight & defend, this government run public school system to the death.

If most parents are unqualified to teach their kids, you would think those of you saying this would stop defending public schools.

So, what is the deal here?

I'm a former teacher. I have no doubt that most parents with the financial ability to homeschool have the qualifications to teach their kids at least through 8th grade. (after that point, math and science will disqualify many more). It's easy to teach one or two students, especially if you've known them all their lives. We only need teachers because they teach 20-40 students at a time, with a variety of backgrounds, etc.

That is kind of how I feel- though I am not a former teacher. I have known parents that have homeschooled- and for those with the right mindset and the means to dedicate 1 parent to the teaching, it works extremely well for education.

I am not against homeschooling- I just think that most parents would not be able to do it- not that they are intellectually incapable, but financially and/or emotionally unable to do so.
