This is a follow-up to my previous thread about Tide Pods, and after further research behind this phenomenon, I thought I’d follow it up with a stark but blunt statement. Whether it’s a four year old or a seventeen year old, if they die from ingesting Tide Pods, it is your fault. You’ve read the news, you’ve seen the videos, you know not to ingest the Pods, the death of your child due to laundry detergent ingestion is fully your fault and you will have to go to your grave with that truth. You bought the Pods fully knowing the risk it poses. These Pods are essentially a easy way to commit suicide, almost instantly causing respiratory problems. Yes, accidents do happen. But whether it’s a accident or a voluntary pledge to the “Tide Pods Challenge,” egged on by memes, the outcome was in your control. I bought a pack of Pods today for my laundry. Open the bag and what does it smell like inside? Soap, like bat soap. Would you eat bar soap to prove you’re cool? Ten years ago, it was texting and driving that teens egged each other over about. Now it’s Tide Pods and IKEA Furniture. Drop the lawsuits against P&G, this fault was yours and yours only. This year alone, in January, Poison Control Centers reported 96 cases due to ingestion of these Pods across the country. From 2013 to 2017, 8 deaths have been reported nationally from ingesting these Pods. Pods aren’t going anywhere, in fact they are ramping up production and introducing Pods in China and Japan. So P&G are undeterred by your mistakes. Are you getting the picture now?
