I think every person who claims "the border is secure" should offer room and board to illegals captured crossing the border until their case comes up.

Exactly. Anyone here in this country legally can be transported anywhere they want to. Can't accuse DeSantis of transporting illegal migrants across state line if they are here legally.

 

Again, for those who can't or won't pay attention: these were not illegals. Illegals jump the fence or cross the river with impunity in hundreds of places along the border, and we don't have the resources to gather them up and send them anywhere, so good luck with that.

For the geographically challenged, there are four states along the southern border, two with Republicans in charge and two with Democrats in charge. The border crossings in all states are processing asylum seekers. California gets the biggest share of immigrants to process. Once cleared, many have somewhere specific that they want to go, like to family members or friends already living here. In the two Democrat-run states, nothing has changed. The governors of California and New Mexico are not busing them to Texas or Arizona, or anyplace else.

I recommend that you do some research instead of just regurgitating the hateful right wing spin. I'll wait for that proof.

They are still illegals. Just because liberal politicians invited the entirety of central and south america to waltz across the border doesn't make them legal.

 

They don't have housing for them on the island. It isn't a big place. The locals fed them, sheltered them, but did not have the resources to get them to the mainland, so the military stepped in to help.

Most of those helping are volunteers. This is what Americans do when faced with difficulty, roll up the sleeves and get to work. The facilities and personnel for handling the influx are not in DC or NYC, and certainly not on Martha's Vineyard. This is Republican governors inflicting cruelty on immigrants, and thumbing their noses as Democrats. It's politicalmgrandstanding writ large, with zero consideration to the thousands of innocent, legal immigrants involved. The cruelty, once again, is the point.

 

It's ALL on MY dime. Every illegal my tax dollars have to pay to clothe and feed them while homeless Citizens are still getting dumpster food. Now making the left choke on their own policy? How do you know what Otis Base has for asylum seekers? Since it is a military base the immigrants will not be able to leave the base which means they will be confined on the base for who knows how long. Would it not have been a more whiter thing to do letting them stay in all those empty summer homes?
