Hello, Im an old timer who spent most of my life as a Democrat. I left the party about a decade ago because I disagree so strongly with their weak, imo, positions on immigration, border security, and enforcement immigration laws. At that time, I thought I might switch to the Republican party, but after visiting the local headquarters and talking to some folks there (and to other Republicans I know), it seemed like too many of them were suffocating on their own racism and anger. So, I registered as an Independent and have never looked back. This year I'm in a bind: I hate both Hillary, and the Orange man. I enjoy reading spirited, funny, sometimes hot and snarky, political discussions. But after reading the Rules page I worry that people here may be too quickly and easily be banned for almost any comment they post. Eventually, Id like to find a political forum that has a something of a wild west feel to it.
