When different people run, and have different views based on the place and time of the election, anomalies happen. Trump himself was an anomaly. Yes. There is going to be a wave of GOP voter suppression over the next few years that will dwarf previous attempts. They know that high voter turnout = GOP losses, so they will find any way they can to make it harder for that to happen.
