She said she has always stood as the type of politician who will “work across the aisle to deliver results for my community and the people I was elected to represent.” But her leftist colleagues did not support her. “They abandoned me,” she said, explaining again that her decision to leave the Democrat Party is not a political decision but a moral one. Mainor told Fox News Digital that it is “humbling to be embraced – for the first time in a long time – by individuals who don’t find fault in a black woman having a mind of her own and be willing to buck the party line.” She added that she would not be surprised if she received backlash from Democrats, adding, “The most dangerous thing to the Democrat Party is a black person with a mind of their own.” “So, it wouldn’t surprise me,” she said. Further, Mainor said she will continue to focus on her key issues — education and school choice — while also working to “help grow the Republican Party, helping us not focus — not just on preaching to the choir, but growing the congregation.”
This phenominon of black voters and politicians moving from the donkey party to the GOP is not something new. Polls show it's moved from a trickle to something substantial over the last few decades and continues to grow, Each election cycle results in an increase of the percentage of blacks voting for GOP candidates which is becoming a real problem for the Democrats. Who can blame minority voters for giving up on the Democrats? After all what have black comminities actually gotten for their political loyalty to the Democratic Party? Every single large urban area in the country controlled by Democrats for the last several decades has turned into a cesspool-like third world country with hopeless social conditions. I welcome all black voters back to the Republican party, as my experience is that most blacks are socially conservative at the same time they have been politically liberal. Now they recognize the Democratic Party has never done anything for them except to cynically treat them as being worth nothing more than a preditable vote.
