People of organized religion follow the doctrine of the Church that they attend. Where does the Church doctrine come from? God? Man? Both? For example, in another thread today, a forum member brought up that in Victorian times women of the Church wore very long skirts. Was that a doctrine of God? If so, why has it changes as many women in Church now days wear shorter skirts. The fact that it has changed seems to imply that the doctrine is open to interpretation or man made and not the will of God. During my years in Church I saw skirt length ranging from very long to just above the knee. I imagine if a woman were to enter a Church in the Victorian era with a skirt that went above her knee she would probably be burned at the stake as a witch! It is interesting looking at the fashion of many Church leaders... for example the Pope. His attire and the wardrobe of those around him are very traditional, reserved, reverent and probably been that way for hundreds of years.
The churches of today (most being of the 501c3 category) make policy in order to remain compliant with political correctness... thereby veering away from the will of God. When I speak of churches in the sense as I have above, I am referring to the various denominations within the Christian group. My belief is that there is only one Church, and that is the one composed of all the members of the Body of Christ (metaphorically speaking). That one Church does not move away from the will of God. Some of the members might become ill (spiritually) and due to that illness, the Body of Christ will be affected but not overwhelmed.
