What are you talking about? The claim by the left is that voter ID laws are unnecessary and racist....turn on MSNBC for a change buddy.

That's different. One of THOSE men as an elected DemocRAT in Philadelphia. RATS disenfranchising people is an accepted tradition, going back to their invention of Jim Crow.

Clearly requiring the simple presentation of ID to ensure the voter is who he claims to be, equally applied to all, CAN'T be racist.

It can't be racist because DemocRATs don't like it. If it was racist, they'd be pushing it.

Yes North Carolina passed its own voting requirements. You list some of the requirements you see as negative and leave off the ones you do not. Do you like straight ticket voting? Do you dislike banning the paid voter registration drives?

No, what I like is how you say it's all about ID when it's not, then change your own story to me that it in fact is not all about the ID. Why is it every time I have to back people in a corner to get a little truth? People like me waste most of my time with people like you trying to walk you out of all the dodging , twisting, and spinning of the information. This is why the republican party is headed to the toilet. Because of the same old shenanigans of not owning up to how it really is. This voter suppression stuff is prime example. You think everyone is dumb to the fact, and that's a BIG mistake.

Look there is the general issue of voter ID and then specifics about what each state is doing. The different states are doing different things. Some of what North Carolina is doing you may or may not like. Some of what they are doing I may or may not like but to tie the idea of presenting an ID as voter suppression based on other things a specific state may do does not change the idea of voters needing to present an ID as being somehow bad or as you wish to state it as "voter suppression". Presenting positive ID is certainly not voter suppression.

I have nothing against a person presenting an ID in order to vote, which is what we have always done. But in the republican world of schemes and scams, they have decided to make getting an ID for certain groups a little harder. That right there is sketchy from the get go.Having to produce an ID. versus making it harder to acquire one, are two totally different things. The two are not related. But the scheme from the right is to incorporate the two ideas as one and the same. They are not.

You have a black president getting elected in 2008, and all hell breaks loose. Suddenly, after decades of business as usual, now the right decides some of us need special ID's to vote. I think this black president thing as been more than some of the white supremacist republicans can take. So what do they do? They go and get obvious as to what they are doing. Such as special ID requirements that are not necessary for college students, while deciding to come in the back door with the real voter suppression schemes that I already posted earlier. The ID thing is really just a purposely concocted distraction from the real voter suppression. As a matter of fact, you are using the same strategy in your post, to keep the subject focused on ID. It just isn't going to work. The people know too well what the real voter suppression schemes are.

You are hardly capable of that. Once you get backed in a corner you coward out and get lost. I've learned my lesson with you. You still owe quite a few of us explanations on who knows what in the recent past, and you bailed out. Only to show up later on some other thread, never manning up to finish the other one's you got into.

Do you have proof of these ridiculous allegations?

The only reason liberals oppose voter ID is because they think minorities are too stupid to comply.

Must dumb down America so nobody feels left out.

    Just more of the same.

I have lived in three states and was never required to show an ID. So you are telling me that in your state they require an ID to vote?

In your state, do they require an ID to qualify for welfare or unemployment benefits?

    Huh? Smart person? Genius, even?

When I lived in South Carolina, Nikki Haley (the gov) passed a voter ID bill that had an important clause that disrupts the liberal argument: a state funded taxi service will pick ANYONE UP and drive them to get a photo ID AND pay for it if the person is low income.

People shouldn't be allowed to vote twice, or thrice, or 100 times. It's not fair.

    Voter ID solves that.

But these people don't care. They hold to no morals. Which is evil.

I made the same case from post# 137 that I'm going to make to you. You're falling back to this voter ID smokescreen that the rest of them are going to in order to avoid discussing the real voter suppression schemes. Voter Id in comparison to the other voter suppression schemes is a smaller issue compared to the rest. I have no problem with an ID. But when you make it hard to get, that is a different story. Requiring students to get government issued ID'S is not making it easy.

But, since you all are incapable of discussing anything other than ID, rather than talking about the real voter suppression laws, does Nikki Haley still have those taxi's available? According to this, that's not likely; http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2011/07/15/270819/nikki-haley-drive-dmv/ But thanks! I got a good laugh out of that one.
