SNIP The National Republican Senatorial Committee is canceling $10 million worth of fall advertising reservations in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — three states at the center of the GOP’s push to regain control of Congress. The New York Times, which reported the news on Monday, notes Republicans have been struggling to raise money as of late, as well as that the decision to pull ads for some of its top candidates could be tied to the party’s financial troubles. The NRSC has cut the most money, $5 million, in Pennsylvania, where quack TV doctor Mehmet Oz is taking on Lt. Governor John Fetterman. The committee also cut more than $2 million in both Arizona, where Trump-backed Blake Masters is up against incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly, and Wisconsin, where incumbent Republican Sen. Ron Johnson is trying to fend off rising Democratic star Mandela Barnes, ENDSNIP https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/gop-senate-campaign-arm-pulling-201700666.html Frankly, I can see the GOP pulling from the Ariz and Pa races..... I cannot see any way those 2 crap candidates are worth any time or money. Net gain D+1 But to be pulling back from Conspiracy Ron in Wisconsin is interesting. He only got 50.2% of the vote in 2016, back before he went completely bonkers, so this is bound to be a close race. My guess is the Senate GOP is failing to raise funds because some fat guy is taking it all for his personal use... How do you read this pullback?? Reapportioning to more important races? Where? They certainly aren't going to send much to Georgia.... My guess is the GOP will go all-in (pun intended) on Nevada....
I still can’t believe republicans nominated “doctor” ****ing oz. I guess we should be thankful judge Judy doesn’t wanna run….although she’s Jewish so the gop probably wouldn’t elect her
I wish the Republicans would pull the plug on Hershel Walker in Georgia. He's a UGA star football grad who can barely write his name on the ground with a stick. It would be seriously embarrassing were he to win.
Pro MAGA, Anti MAGA..... shouldn't really matter here... that was just a historically bad pick for a seat there is/was a fair chance to take back... But if he wins, he will easily take over from Tuberville as the worst former college football representative in the Senate..... so...... yay? What I find sort of amusing is that after their entire history without a Black Senator, the white folk of Georgia don't have another choice this time...
Hahaha! Who needs to advertise when the democrats are screwing up so bad? Wrecking the economy and cheering the FBI acting like they are in a banana Republic not to mention the debacle bill Inflation Reduction Act.....the gifts that keep on giving.
I suspect Dr. Phil would be more up the GOP alley... frankly, he'd be light years a more interesting candidate than Dr. Oz.... Of course, since Jersey Boy Oz is running in Penn, confirmed Texan Dr. Phil would probably run in Minnesota or something...
Dems cut funding Florida races long time ago. I know Rubio is running for re-election, but I'm not seeing much advertisement from his challengers.
Was just checking out the 538 polling averages.... I certainly don't think any polling should be taken all that seriously, but these numbers do not look like any sort of "red wave" in the Senate Fetterman +11 Kelly +10 Ryan (OH) +4 NC Statistical Tie Amazingly, Warnock is only +2 against one of the dumbest Senate candidates ever... I suspect that lead will increase overnight if they ever have a debate... The Senate is still a much better test of where the country stands than a bunch of gerrymanders...
It'll be Demings, and I'm sure she's keeping her powder dry for the big fight. Frankly, even though Rubio is a spineless weasel, he's still one of the better GOP options in the Senate. I won't shed a tear if Florida returns that T**** doormat back to the Senate.... As you say, I wouldn't expect a ton of support from the DNC for Demings either... She's pretty much on her own, as is the D Gov candidate (assuming Crist)
Rubio says some seriously partisan things sometimes, but otherwise he is ok. As for the Governors race, you are correct, Dems do not have much interest in that one either, so its pretty much a done deal.
One of my favorite sayings is "He who tries to defend everywhere, defends nowhere" Until Florida shows that they are tired of crappy state government and leaders on their own, I don't see Florida being a priority for D's... Which is too bad, because it's really only a 53-47 state at worst.... It's not a completely lost cause.... OTOH, places like Wisc, NC, and Ohio can be tipped pretty easily this cycle.... that's where the $$ need to go... along with defending Nev and NH...
Yes, they can't focus everywhere. Florida is what it is. They are not very active in midterms, and in presidential elections they can go either way, and its usually very close (Bush won by 500 votes, Obama won closely 2 times, Trump won, Clinton won once and lost once).
To me it is obvious they are conceding at the national level for those races. And as another poster mentioned, Walker in GA is not a good candidate either.
That was and is my reaction to this. I don't see a lot of Trump voters as actual Republicans. They're voting for the man, not the party. He's been bilking them for cash for years (the base and the party mechanism). There's only so much to go around.
Y'all just hate democracy.. Just admit it. And racist as the day is long. This is what obviously cases as water cooler talk for democrats...
Egoboy, Ron Johnson recently suggested that Social Security and Medicare should be changed from mandatory spending to discretionary spending, ending the entitle program as it currently is enforced. This has pissed off every group such as AARP and others not to support him anymore, and why the GOP is now withdrawing from Wisconsin. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...cial-security-medicare-discretionary-spending https://www.wispolitics.com/2022/wi...atening-social-security-and-medicare-funding/
How is recommending the smart black guy over the dumb black guy racist? Feel free to use graphs and charts in your explanation.....
See my quote "before he went completely bonkers" If this was just 15 years ago, Barnes would win this race by 12-14 pts... But MAGAworld will try to put this goofus back in office again, even if they aren't going to spend as much.... It'll be close either way because.... Wisconsin...
If you had framed your initial comment in that context, perhaps nothing. But you didn't. So why try to equivocate now? I thought you were just concerned with equity. When did quality enter into your world view?
I've never equivocated my view that Warnock is 10-15x the candidate Walker is, so I have not the slightest clue what you are talking about, making it unanimous....
I must agree. I honestly dont care about party on this one, but Walker needs to stop talking. He sounds like he has CTE, and every time he talks he digs the whole deeper. Im truely surprised that the establishment republicans in the state let him run. That state gets more and more D every cycle, and to run a fringe candidate on that race wasnt a smart move.
