Bought a used Prius gen 2.

Didn't buy it to save the planet. Bought it because most of my driving is urban and wanted the gas mileage. After looking into these, Toyota made a very impressive vehicle. They are high mileage and very well built vehicles. Bought mine with 120K and the guy I bought it from has one with 400K on it and it still looks great. Drove through town today, one way using gas saving techniques and back with the A/C on and driving normally. 54mpg up and 44mpg back in town. Best I could get with my other car in town was 25mpg.

Didn't need it, just wanted it.

Even though I'm a strict conservative I love alternate energy.

It certainly has a role to fill in our society.

I myself would love to buy a Tesla one day.

Why the hell do I want to spend more on gas if I don't have to.

But regular cars also have their place.

As we move on through the years the market will work it out and I expect that as technology increases and becomes more affordable that the gas vehicles will slowly be replaced.

    And that's a good thing.
