Judge not lest ye be judged in kind, buddy pal ole friend of mine. You're the ones doing the judging. If it's okay for you to judge then it's okay for you to be judged. If it's not okay for you guys to be judged while you're judging, then all the judgements you guys made against him applies to you.
I don't care if she merely refused to eat her broccoli. If she did it egotistcally, she was not exercising any meaningful independence. I have no reason to think you're in a position to make an accurate assessment of yourself in this regard. Even assuming arguendo that it didn't have that effect you, you have to be completely oblivious to the world around you to believe it doesn't happen to the vast majority of people. Even on this board 9 posters out of 10 are too stupid to talk to, and that sure as Hell isn't because they're too independent-minded. I expect certain kinds of people to find it nonsensical, so don't worry your pretty little head about it.
So you purposely wrote that in a convoluted and nonsensical manner? You wanted it not to make sense? That is a new tactic...... ok......
Your post was written in a convoluted and nonsensical manner. Did you do that on purpose? If not, wouldn't it make sense to rewrite your point in a coherent fashion? I suggest it would.
I don't know how things are in Oz, but it's not that way here. We don't live in a nanny state. He hasn't committed any crime. Your post portrays over-reaction itself. In that vein, we'd soon have all the adults in straight jackets and the kids running the country. (review Lord of the Flies) Law enforcement can't just take peoples' rights and property because another person does not approve. We're a land of laws, not witch-hunts.
A father posting videos of shooting his daughters belongings is somehow seen as 'normal' in the usa? really?
I suppose it counts for something that every imbecile and every egomaniac on this board could be relied on to agree with your assessment.
Who said it's normal? It's not ordinary or typical, but as far as I know, he broke no laws. The only one I can even possibly consider is "discharging a firearm within city limits". It looked fairly rural in the viddy.
As this is now in the public domain. The legality will be reviewed by the child protection services in whatever state he resides in. That is mistake he made by posting it online. Now i think he was an idiot and many others do and this is just an political forum. He be eaten alive by the care workers.
You just gotta love the Butterfly effect. If he does get in trouble with CPS I hope he sues them for everything he can get off of them. They have too much power as it is these days. We live in a sad society these days, where people aren't free to be over the top if they (*)(*)(*)(*)ed well please without people being so (*)(*)(*)(*)ed judgmental of these things.
Please, this is transparent projection. The post was perfectly coherent. You obviously comprehended it well enough to dislike it, though you don't dare understand why; wherefore, unable to find any fault with it, you are attempting to find fault with me instead.
Kudos to this father for his actions. If I had done something this stupid, I'm sure my backside would have been tanned.
We would NEVER allow adults to walk around with guns, shooting up their childrens belongings over an argument that could have been resolved simply by talking about it. That's ridiculous, and its hilarious that this kind of crap is tolerated in the US. Americans wonder why they cop so much flack from Aussies. This is exactly why!
Altho I think he should have just given her laptop to a needy kid who couldn't afford one, he did not act 'recklessly and dangerously'.... did you watch the video?
Long videos slow my computer down so no - but I have seen small snippets of it elsewhere. I stand by my comments. The argument could have been resolved if he sat her down and talked to her. Instead, he has made the situation worse.
When you're dealing w/a teenager like her, often a little chat just doesn't cut it... in my opinion, they both made the situation what it is..... He should have done something about her stinkin attitude and self-centeredness a long time go..........
I was a brat when I was 16. My mum simply sent me to bed early and refused to let me watch my fave TV shows. It worked.
Let's get to the serious stuff.... would you have degraded your parents on a social network to your friends like this kid did? Especially after your dad sunk $130 into your laptop?
I have complained about them but I would never say somethin nasty about them on FB. My other family and friends would see it.
