I'll say it again for the benefit of those slow on the uptake: The public debt NEVER has to be repaid and it NEVER will be. The nation was born of debt -- oceans of it. Debt scrounged up from anywhere and everywhere made us a free nation. We took it as a matter of national pride that we would repay every penny of that debt, and though we had to get through some pretty difficult times along the way, we did eventually manage it by the mid-1830's. But people began to wonder why we had done it. They looked around at the sacrifices they had made as against whatever good had been done, and they couldn't find an actual reason. Starting in 1837, we began to take on more debt again. We have been doing so ever since, at an accelerated pace during military and economic crises, and more recently during certain Republican administrations. In between, the rate of growth has slowed or even gone negative for a while, but the overall trend has been upward for 175 years. It is the idea that this trend can or should be reversed that is misguided and unadulterated tripe, something to clog up the minds of the uninformed and unsophisticated.

In my spare time, I run a rather successful LLC and direct a 501(c)(3). In your spare time, it is rather apparent that you do NOT study government or public finance.

Taxes are at a 50-60 year low point -- one part of our national revenue problem. The credit-rating was downgraded not for economic reasons, but for political reasons having to do with the dogmatic intransigence of certain moron Republicans and their inability/refusal to participate in the process of governance. And nothing magical should or does happen when you incorporate a business. You still have to obey the laws and pay your own way. If you can't do that and expect instead some sort of Mother Mary, kid-glove treatment simply for having a business license, you can just plain get the he!! out of Dodge with your stuck-up, antisocial self. We don't want or need you.
