Not total. I have a firearms license. Total confiscation of semi-automatics (excepting certain handguns). Mace is illegal to carry here. Anything which the police consider to be a weapon at the time. ie: walking down the street with a baseball bat is legal if you've been to baseball practice, but not if the police think you're going to defend yourself. Extend that principle to all items. Self defense technically isn't illegal, but you can only use whatever happens to be around you at the time. Best to (*)(*)(*)(*) your pants to dissuade rapists, mace would hurt their eyes.
Part of basic military training required I go through a tent filled with tear gas. It was a 5 minute torture, not only survivable but also knowing that I could function under those conditions. Mace is no different.
The only military training this guy would have gone through would have been beating up an 8 year old girl in high school. Guys like this don't like those who fight back, they only pick on those smaller than them. Good work on your service.
