When it comes to guns, nobody know how to best control their weapons like the inner city gangsta's. When you look at the gun guru's out there there is one thing that is apparent. The vast majority of them have never been in a pistol fight. The gun guru comes in a variety of forms. (1) There is the military type. While some/many of them have been in combat, this has been in a military setting. (2) LEO's. Some of them may have been in a pistol fight, but most of them have not. They know about LEO shootings but precious little about a street fight. (3) A combination of 1 and 2. (4) Competition shooters. Virtually no real life experience. (5) Civilian instructors. They teach the basics, however ditto to real experience. Now lets look at the gangsta's. There's no doubt that the true talent lies within some of the Mexican and Latin American sicarios. You only have to look at the carnage in Mexico and Latin America. After all they brought in some true talent with the Zeta's, Eastern European/Russian/Israeli renegades and most recently the Kaibeles. Some of that talent has diffused into America's inner cities. Lets face it, the inner city gangsta has their own manual of arms. While many of them are rank amateurs, some of them aren't. The B-more crews are a prime example. Some of their neighborhoods have a greater than 50% mortality per shooting that is better than most PD's. One guy operated for over a decade and was involved in numerous pistol fights. Then there is the shooter who walked up and smoked three guys on a contested corner. The so called vic's were not corner boys but real live armed security. That is true talent. Remarkable if you think about it. Their weapon of choice is a high capacity, DAO's in 9mm or 40 caliber. Some of these people were indoctrinated as kids and corner boys, but graduated up to the big leagues. They've seen and lived the life. Plus they seem to know a few things that the rest of us don't. They know what works and what doesn't. Food for thought the next time you read or hear from some of our own pistolero's. Food for thought.
Yeah, because these mythical, god-like inner-city gun guru's would immediately turn in their guns if people like you and QLB passed anti-gun laws. ROFL
Thanks for the clarification and I apologize for misunderstanding. While there are certainly some dangerous men on the wrong side of the law, they are minuscule in comparison to those on our side. Factor in the assets available to a nation, and even a cartel has problems fighting head-to-head. One common thread I know from experience and from others in "risky" jobs is the power of good training. While experience is the best teacher, good, solid and repeated training is almost as good and easier to accomplish. Ask most "heroes" how they did what they did and most of them will say something like "I was scared, but the training kicked in and I just kept going".
And you don't think some of the gangsta's don't have good training? Most of them were born into generational violence and within their own realm are quite adept. Many are not but there are more than few who are. Natural selection rules in the hood. They know what works and what doesn't.
Who are these "gangstas"? Street punks? No. Sicarios? Yes, but probably ex-military or ex-LEO before crossing over.
Not in the inner city. Are a lot of them simple street punks. Yep. But some are not. Plus, they're getting better. They know that a full size high capacity reliable DAO gives them an ideal weapon within their world.
I thought gun control was fire discipline, hitting what your aiming without firing so many rounds at your intended target. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department did a study on gang drive by shootings. 70% of those who were shot were innocent bystanders and not the intended target.
The vast majority of these punks never been properly trained in handgun marksmanship let a loan using a gun in a real fire fight. Interesting study -> http://static1.1.sqspcdn.com/static...shting.pdf?token=tMMlDLp5hLP/E+FjcRz2LDmdwdM=
Really? Most of our gun guru's are going towards obtaining multiple hits now till the threat is neutralized. Even the PD's have blue on blue shootings. Interestingly civilians seem to have fewer. BTW drive by shootings are a retaliatory and intimidation tactic that is often used as retribution. There are specific and group targets and just about anyone is fair game within the group. They may want to get T-bone but Malick will do.
And yet most civilians are somehow properly trained? BTW didn't you and others state about how poorly trained many LEO's are? Can't have it both ways. Do you think street hoodlums involved in the drug trade exist in a vacuum? Nothing stops them from obtaining the same video's and gun magazines you may read or subscribe to. And if you pardon the pun, you'll be dead wrong if you think few of them have even been in a gunfight. Plus they start the process fairly early in life. Corner boys often are walking talking holsters for the big guys and whose job it is to pass a firearm to one of the bigger boys if trouble comes. No problem if they get busted as a juvenile. It goes from there. Like I said, they have a manual of arms that is all their own and very workable within their environment.
No, they aren't and I haven't anyone say they are. Some LEOs may lack the best training. Obviously small town cops aren't going to have the same training assets as the FBI. That said, most of them are prior military......at least all the ones who stopped me on the past were. While gang-bangers do, indeed, have access to magazines and videos there are two main differences between them and the regular population; lack of intelligence and a criminal record. If they were smart, they'd be making their money like Hillary and Bill Clinton do, not by jacking a liquor store or selling dope. Because they generally are stupid, they've been caught for stupid crap and have a criminal record; a fact which limits their abilities to obtain the best legal weapons and training.
Speaking of "...stupid crap...", attempting to fire a semi auto pistol sideways vastly increases it's likelihood of malfunctioning
