Of course he hates the report. It destroys the ''project fear'' narrative he's been pushing for the last 3 years.

The Operation Yellowhammer document is five pages long.............it's a re-run of a leaked August document that the government dismissed as out of date.............

And we're meant to be impressed by this stuff?

You can stay in denial if you want. No deal is dead though and no amount of wishful thinking will change that.
Parliament has spoken, the PM must apply for an extension if a deal can't be reached by the Oct' 31st deadline.

What am I in denial of exactly? When the vote you refer to went through Parliament, no way was it 100%. Don't say I'm in denial.

With the recent judgement against Boris Johnson and the proroguing of Parliament, I can't help thinking that the whole thing has become a huge farce.

The entire planet must be laughing at us, and especially in Europe, and it's almost eye watering to watch.

British Parliamentary democracy is meant to a global example, but after the Brexit fiasco, I'm sure they must be having second thoughts. And I'm sure the electorate must be having second thoughts as well.

British Parliament has prevailed. The Supreme Court has backed them up.
An unelected leader cannot rip up the rules and proceed without Parliamentary scrutiny. The Democratic process has been reinforced.
The chances of a second referendum to vote on the specifics of any proposed deal have increased.
The advisory vote in 2016 is now ancient history and the people will have their say from a much better informed position.

    No deal is dead.
The options will be accept a deal or remain.

I must admit I wasn't sure about Boris Johnson's move to Prorogue Parliament either but you can't describe him as 'unelected' surely?

And speaking of the 2016 Referendum as only being 'advisory' rather than final, you reveal yourself as part of the conspiracy to derail Brexit.

Here's a seven and a half minute excerpt from "Brexit: The Full Movie". It discusses the EU with respect to trade deals. Something very relevant to that we've been discussing. The contents of the excerpt all makes perfect sense and the persons discussing the various ideas are all authoratative figures of some experience. So why are the people in Parliament not saying the exact same thing we see in this video? Why the total and utter schism?

    The EU Restricts Free Trade

    It was only advisory.
There's no other honest way to describe it.
It had no power in law to make the government act on it.
Sure, I hope Brexit falls off the rails, it is the most damaging thing we could do to ourselves.
The polls indicate that a second referendum would go the way of remain by 55-45%.
The electorate is far better informed now and the Labour voters who voted against Cameron aren't going to vote for the Tories.

Oh, and he certainly is unelected.
A handfull of Tory party members put him in number 10.
The public had no say in it.
I would have voted for Rory Stewart if I'd been given the opportunity.

Well, you've finally revealed your hand. You knew full well that the only deal available was a re-heated rendition of Theresa May's deal which has already been voted down more than once by Parliament.

But you weren't interested in a deal anyway. You just wanted to spin things out until the average voter became completely bored with Brexit and would just give up on the whole idea.

You also fail to see the truth about the EU and how it's not what it is made out to be. It's bullying, authoritarian and produces endless piles of pretty much useless legislation. Being a member of the EU can only be likened to a drug addiction where the user doesn't even want to give up and change his ways. You're terrified by visions of huge queues at Dover because of the extra paperwork involved and are haunted by visions of rioting and civil unrest in the streets. But stuff like this has already happened and is still happening as a direct result of EU policy. There has been civil unrest and demonstrations in many countries against the EU and its followers. Why do you fail to see the truth?

I'm taking no lectures on failing to see the truth from someone who denies the consequences of a no deal Brexit.
The truth is that a deal is far better than no-deal and no possible deal can be as good as the deal we currently have.
We have our own currency, we have free trade from inside the single market, we aren't a part of Schengen, we have no border in Northern Ireland and we have a veto which means no laws or regulations can be forced on us.
All for the very low price of around 0.7% of our total government spending.

You have nothing but misplaced nationalism and lies on a bus.

This is getting a bit worrying Monty. A while back you flounced off because you disagreed with something I had posted and now you are doing the same thing with James 7

I am going out now, but if I meet you in the street with a tinfoil hat on your head, both fingers in your ears and hear you screaming, "I am not listening, I am not listening!!" I will give you a pound. Usually it is £2 but the other nutters tend to be a bit more original so they get the higher rate

    Don't change my quotes.
It's dishonest and against the rules.
If you want to debate like an adult I'm cool.
Want to behave like a child I'm out.
Insulting fellow posters is also against the rules so if you want to stick around I suggest you knock it off.

Why don't you just admit it. The only deal you're going to get is Theresa May's deal re-heated.

No way am I convinced by Operation Yellowbelly, sorry Yellowhammer. Many government ministers have expressed doubts about it. In any case it represented an imaginary worst case scenario, like something from out of a made for television B-movie more like.

But as you have already admitted you don't even want a Brexit:

Are you watching the debate in Parliament right now?
    No deal is a catastrophe.
Are you prepared to crash the economy for some imaginary return of a sovereignty we never actually lost?

Yes, I have been watching the debate in Parliament and Boris Johnson doesn't seem to be on the back foot that much considering Parliament is in a virtual state of limbo at the moment thanks to an obvious ploy from the opposition.

If anything I thought Jeremy Corbyn was more on the back foot having been accused of not really wanting a deal anyway but to Remain in the EU instead.

Democracy is being blocked by the Remain camp who want to cause as much nuisance as possible. Let the people speak and let us hold a general election.

    Sure, you'll get your election.
    In November.
