How is that dumb, because it proves my point that at one point in time there WAS free market healthcare. Sorry to disappoint.
wrong of course. capitalism depends on price shopping so we'd require published prices in a comparable way. If a hospital had hight prices it would get a rep and nobody would go there. That's one of the keys to understanding capitalism. Oddly, even Obamacare knew this by trying to make reimbursement by incident to remove the incentive to order 100 tests and do 100 procedures. And rehospitalization was punished too. Making sense now?
Doctors making house calls is your proof of a free market in health care? That is just about as stupid as claiming that because you can go to a doctor's office that proves a free market in healthcare.
more importantly health care is so important that we should switch immediately to a free market! THe saving would actually be enough to pay off national debt in 6 years!
once again have you ever heard of Cuba /Florida or Hong Kong/Red China? Do you know that when China switched to capitalism they instantly eliminated 40% of all the poverty on earth?? Notice that when a liberal and libertarian meet the libertarian ends up running a kindergarten? Why is that?
That is a formidable string of ifs. there is no part of a pure free market that delivers on any of those stipulations But most often, those countries do not depend upon pure free market medical care
Actually we have a group of doctors in my city that does it. Insurance doesn't cover their added fee for house calls which I think I read was around $70.00.
I know that’s how it commonly works, that’s why I asked if the opportunity to freely choose insurance company would satisfy the demand for a free market or if it would have to be down to individual clinical events. In general, I’m suggesting wider consideration of the additional complexities and issues that make healthcare a unique prospect that you can’t simply apply a standard free market concept and expect it to simply work.
Nope, you can't just GO to a doctor for many people, because they are not in that persons network. It was free market, doctors worked on reputation and skill, medicine was (albeit lacking then) was open to a person choosing how to treat themselves. You may not like it, but it was free market.
You would also need interstate competition so you wouldn't have 50 separate insurance markets. Imagine if every state had its own market for toothpaste Toothpaste would cost 10 times what it does
Yes we know from east west Germany and many other capitalist socialist comparisons if we switched to capitalist healthcare prices would come down about 80%
Any would be socialist fascist industry will go to the government and say they are special unique different and therefore require regulation and protection from the government The truth is the more complex and difficult an industry is the more urgent the need to apply capitalism.
That it is laughable? I'll take that debt. I bet if you kill every American healthcare costs would also come down. LOL
So what no country had capitalism until 200 years ago it's a brand-new idea but very obviously it's the greatest miracle in the history of the planet Chyna just switch to capitalism and instantly Eliminated 40% of all the poverty on the entire planet capitalism is the greatest miracle in human history by far
The question was do you know what happened in east west Germany Cuba Florida Taiwan Communist China and 132 other examples? The human condition is pretty sad when liberals look at east west Germany and say let's copy east Germany
