A few places for online purchases. Please add to the list. I am stoked that here in a little less than 2 months I can be in my Garden and stay outside. Need to build a trellis and finish my slate rock patio overlooking the garden in early spring. A commercial building was being bulldozed and I got permission to remove the slate rock from the grounds last fall. http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=...Q0Qw&adurl=http://www.anniesheirloomseeds.com http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=...ed=0CEAQ0Qw&adurl=http://www.organicaseed.com http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...TwCoO2uzwVmfEgBrg-kLTUA&bvm=bv.42080656,d.aWc http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...nCPqUZ2pqBcPayGgGd8Khqg&bvm=bv.42080656,d.aWc
I have saved seed before. The process I used for tomato was pretty simple. You should ferment the seed before saving it. This way if any disease is present it will not transfer to the new plant. To ferment tomato seed I took the seed with some of the juice of the tomato and added some water. Put that in a cup and cover the cup with plastic wrap. Poke some holes it the plastic wrap to vent. Keep that in a warm spot for about a week or two till you see some mold growing. At that point you can rinse the seeds well and dry them. I dry them on paper towel. Once they are completely dry put them in a cool dry place till you use them. Dont forget to label them. They have cool templates on line you can print to make envelopes for the seed. Just Google seed envelope template.
It was nice last weekend so I put up two trellises on top of some established clematis, trimmed up the honeysuckle surrounding sitting area around the old old maple tree, and picked up a couple months worth the branches for the fire pit. I noticed tulips and daffodils starting to poke through the dirt.
