does it mean that people ´ll travel to "Greece" to get a taste of ancient Greece, like Byron and people like him did 200 years ago ? i have a great new pitch for this: "forget about Thailand, Greece is a new Thailand "

    "
The ancient religion Hellenism is now a ‘known religion’ in Greece. Hellenism is now listed as an official religion in Greece. Prior to the granting of this legal status by Greece’s government, Hellenistic practices had no legal standing in the country and adherents could not build its houses of worship or carry out its ceremonies legally. The Supreme Council of Ethnic Hellenes announced the decision by the government on the April 9, much to the joy of the practitioners of the ancient faith.

What a bunch of idiots, and I don's mean only the Greek pagans, but the secular Greek government as well. No doubt it's making the arrogant fools in Brussels happy... but not for too long. Things are coming to a head... and very quickly.

Take that Brussels, and Germany, and France...

Byron's Greece wasn't ancient Greece, it was Ottoman Greece... and Ali Pasha made a pass at him when he was young. Byron refused.

Anyway the world's getting there again... especially Europe. Just look at the arrogance of the bureaucrats. It's a by product and usually proceeds a fall.

Thank heaven for Vladimir Putin, or that would be Russia's future as well.

Well, thanks to Lenin we live in a secular state - and I sincerely hope it will remain so, without ANY sort of religion having preferences over other and being involved in state's life in ANY way.

Good stuff .. bring on the Pantheon ! The ancient Israelite's believed in a Pantheon as well.

Was only after Persia saved the Jews from the Babylonian captivity that they adopted strict monotheism.

You be waiting a long time. Putin will face war crime charges at the same time as Obama.

Lul. So you have to worship Putin to avoid being "pagan" now?

I think Orthodoxy is like Catholicism, though - more a cultural practice than a serious religion. And we should certainly hope that is the case for Russia's sake. The quickest way to hell, and this is attested by history, is any form of theocracy.

Hah! I love it. Thanks for sharing Litwin.

This religion is in layman terms just about well its kinda broad.. I saw it in a philosophy class and if I remember right just about, rational civil discourse, community, logic, philosophy, personal responsibility and oddly or rather not physical fitness!

I try on the civil aspect, fail on the physical fitness and bloody well love the rest. Sign me up! ( I am as an adult agnostic. Judaism roots hehe)

I have news for you, Vladimir Putin is the most highly respected leader in the world today. If he didn't have integrity, he wouldn't be hated so by the Washington sociopaths. People tend to those on the same end of the moral spectrum.

You missed the point of my post. Obviously, Obama will not be put on trial for war crimes anytime soon ... and neither will Putin.

Seriously? Read "Putin's Kleptocracy" by Karen Dawisha for the real deal. Putin and his closest buddies have been running a scam for decades such that "110 individuals control 35% of Russia's wealth".

    The man's a thug.

There are also a few things overlooked like human sacrifice... but only when necessary to appease the gods.

As for the philosophers, they believed in one God. But look if you want to follow the Rites of Dionysus that's your business. They had his festival in the middle of August with all the wine you can drink when I was young. I wonder if they still do?

Yeah, he confiscated and nationalized Russia's stolen wealth. Wow! That must mean he's keeping it for himself... I guess in a dungeon somewhere together with his harem of young boys of course..

He is not a thug he is in my opinion navigating quite the quagmire of alternate views just like our leaders do here in the states. His diplomacy and political manoevres are ridiculously adept as well.

Your post is the height of hypocrisy if you live anywhere in the west. Hell we are worse

As far as wealth is concerned we in the US are not better hah. We are the mecca of oligarchy..... Oh and let's not forget these guys below....
