Correct, he isn't running for POTUS now, but he will be in the future... Who exactly are the liberal up and comers?

Well the current one is, but different administrations have used their VPs in different ways. I had read the Gore wanted to play a bigger role, but Clinton shut him down. Cheney OTOH, played a very significant role in Bush's admin.

Dick Morris breaks it down in this video chat.

The History Of The Vice Presidency – Dick Morris TV: History Video!

    Very interesting stuff.

But to be sure, Romney, at least at this time, plans on using Ryan in significant way. He's extremely talented, and Romney seems to have the wisdom to utilize it.

Do you? Well thank you for pointing out the sterling endorsement of ONE PERSON last year. Sadly, actions speak louder than words, and even now a number of GOP reps and senators up for re-election THIS year are trying to distance themselves from this whole fiasco, but it's pretty hard to do so when you clearly and repeatedly voted "(*)(*)(*)(*) YEAH!" to Ryan's budget when everyone thought that they had this in the bag in assuming that Obama would just be a one-hit wonder.

I HAVE MANY LINKS proving what I say!! Yeah reality has a Liberal Bias so you don't deal with reality, but hey.

Yep, Ryans Budget was so great that the GOP practically Begged the Dems to stop talking about it, and they were nicely trying to forget about it till Mitt Romney dragged it front and center again. And its so wonderful that individual GOP guys are already breaking ranks and coming against it. And its only been 4 days since the pick. What an electrifying effect!

Oh and remember those Florida Newspapers I posted up yesterday that Showed Ryan getting slated by the press, that you idiots dismissed as liberal Bias and not reality? Well HOW COME ROMNEY HAS JUST CANCELED HIS MONDAY ORLANDO STOP? http://articles.orlandosentinel.com...mney-romeny-republican-presidential-candidate Exhaustion my ass. He was going to be hammered about it in Florida, and he ran away rather than face the music, get hammered and do even more damage.

This is worse than the Dukakis "Tank" moment. And now you lot are convincing yourselves that "Well the VP doesn't do anything so it doesn't matter!" Well, in this case, it bloody well seems to matter.

Finally, a good line from twitter
    :D

No he didn't, you moron. He cut some money to Medicare Providers as Part of the Trigger package NEGOTIATED WITH THE GOP, which the GOP are now trying to weasel out of because the Democrats didn't cave like they were supposed to. But Medicare payments are untouched. Just ask anyone on Medicare. In fact Obama fought like blase to "ring-fence" the payments, and succeeded. And the ACA does nothing to cut Medicare. I know its a nice line for Romney to spout, but its a bald faced lie.

To be fair, when did smart guys win elections in this country?

Charisma certainly wins elections, but more often than not, intelligence actually seems to scare off a lot of voters. They want a drinking buddy for president or a showman. Very rarely do we elect people for their intelligence -- which explains why we have the candidates we do.

Politicians from both sides often have to downplay their intelligence in their speeches. This is most blatantly demonstrated by how we try to keep speeches down to an 8th-grade reading level.

When Clinton won both times, he didn't do it by stressing the fact that he was a Rhodes scholar. He had to play up his "down-home" appeal.

Even Ryan is having to do this somewhat by posturing as a down-to-earth Wisconsinite. Romney has to pretend that his vast wealth doesn't make him out of touch with the concerns of the average laborer.

Obama has to pretend that he's opposed to the corruption of big banking despite getting a huge amount of funds from them and voting for the bailouts.

One thing is for sure. Intelligence isn't going to win this election -- it's debatable whether or not it ever has won one.

I would agree intelligence is not the only thing, but would disagree it's not anything. In this election, people are looking for competence. Yes, the above is also true. They'll want to drink a beer with Ryan, and hopefully a 7up with Romney. But at the end of the day they want someone competent. This issue of competence has always been a big issue. Not the only one, but a big one.

1980, Carter lost that election in the one and only debate. No way Obama can win a fact based campaign which is what it turned into Saturday

    George H. W. Bush.

The man who became the 41st President of the United States was a nobody? Who knew we named aircraft carriers after nobodies?

Evidently, you don't grasp the importance of the vice president and his position...

Especially, when you're a Democrat and you want to evade responsibility for the trillion dollar deficits you're running every year. "We don't need no (*)(*)(*)(*)ing budget!!!"

    Fact based campaign you say?

I'll just bold the paragraphs that relates to your statement, but the rest of it is fun. For me at least. And remember, this is POLITICO.

Well, that's certainly exciting, isn't it!

But hey, dont worry, Romney did prove me wrong, sort of. He was at an event in Miami today. At a shop OWNED BY A CONVICTED COCAINE TRAFFICKER that served 3 years in federal prison. But don't worry guys. They only caught him trafficking 2,800 pounds of Cocaine. Just imagine what you all would be saying if that was Obama shaking a convicted cocaine smugglers hand?

Any more facts? Oh like Paul Ryan got married to a lobbyist for all the wrong industries, nuclear waste, cigars, UPS...

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/14/janna-ryan-paul-ryan-wife_n_1774265.html

Oh yes, and Ryan earned his millions the old fashioned, self reliant, all American way. He married into it.

    Any comments? :)

yawnnnnnn your Politco article says one thing, the Secret Service did not do their job in vetting the place.

Oh and Ryans grandfather started his construction firm with a pair of mules and parlayed that into millions and no I don't think the government paid for the mules or the sweat his grandfather and father put into the company

Dems were screwed before, they are doubly screwed now

"Reagan proved that deficits don't matter." VP Dick Cheney 2002 to Treasury Secretary Paul H O'Niell, on why he was running record deficits and wanted to expand them. http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A26402-2004Jun8?language=printer

Every democratic President since World war II balanced the budget by the end of his term of office. The first Republican not to do so was Reagan, who tripled the national dept.

Reagan didn't put over a trillion dollars a year into debt, only Obama seems capable of doing that every single year of his failed presidency... Quantity does matter in this case, but you can keep ignoring that...

You suggesting the famously GOP friendly POLITICO is full of communists? :D

Bill Kristol Believes the piece by the way

And as we all know, Bill Kristol has never got anything wrong in his life. :D

Oh and Paul Ryan himself only had $300,000 to his name when he married his Millionaire wife. I don't know anything about his granddad and neither do you, it seems. And yes the government built roads to make his constructions valuable enough for people to buy and move into and created an educated workforce so his buildings didn't fall down. Or are you suggesting that Ryans Supergrandpa built all those houses himself? :D

Why not. Mitt Romney famously attacked the husband of his opponent when he was running for Governor of Massachusetts. Cant exactly complain when his own tactics are used against him.

Looks like Bush the lesser was pushing his trillions too. :D But remember, Deficits don't matter, unless there's a Democrat in office.

Hold on. 2 Days ago you were screaming about Ryan getting 10,000 people to an event, and suddenly 1000 is ace? And weren't you creaming yourselves about Obama "only" getting 1,100 to a fundraiser around page 4?

    Standards slipping are they? :D

Oh and you missed a paragraph

Wow, can it be that he has been told to shut up about it as the GOP is terrified of The Ryan budget and Medicare?

Oh and speaking of teleprompters, you might remember Paul Ryan reading his notes, getting schooled by Obama who wasn't using a teleprompter

If you don't, here's the video. Ryan starts at 13:10 or so

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5vOMIN673A

But don't worry, Ryan was all confidence and fire and Alpha Maleness afterwards

Why would we pick a candidate Democrats liked for Republican VP? That makes no sense.

Rubio was my first pick, but Ryan would have been my second.

...not really sure who my third would have been. Those two guys have stood out to me more than anyone else. All things considered, I'm quite happy, but time will tell.
