    Explain to me the difference?

I have attended many parades and festivals- including 'Gay Pride" and "Italian American" and other than the Gay Pride having less garlic and pasta, I don't see what inherent differences there are.

Both are inclusive- most of the people at every Gay Pride parade I have attended were straight, just like most of the people watching the Columbus Day Parade were mostly non-Italian.

I see no difference in having a parade to celebrate being Gay and a parade celebrating having Italian heritage, other than you object to one, and not the other.

allow me to help you see the difference (and since nudity is not allowed, I can't post pictures of naked penises)

the below pictures are just a tiny sampling from gay pride parades

And again other than homophobic nonsense- can you tell me what is the difference?

I have attended Gay Pride parades, Chinese New Year Parades and Columbus Day parades- each of them celebrates a specific community, none of them are exclusive and all are great fun.

Other than your fear of homosexuals, what is the difference between the three?

None of these posters would be against Gay Pride Parade's if they consisted only of hot topless dykes making out with each other.

It really just homophobia- a fear of homosexual men by other men.

go sit and spin on a rock first of all, because i understand completely. and as a person who is for gay equality i dont like your frilly ass tone because i dont give a damn about your explanation on anything. when i care ill let you know. im not venting, im just very blunt and the spineless dont like that very much.

anyways as i said, i dont like skin tone or sexual orientation pride events as I find them more divisive than anything. thats my opinion, dont care what you are anyone else says. its dumb as hell to go out and flaunt that like like penis or vagina no matter if you are gay or straight. Its stupid to expect to feel like you are special because you are a man who likes other men. The day we stop giving a (*)(*)(*)(*) what eachother does, stop trying to make others accept who we are as individuals, and stop pretending like we are owed something just because we are different.....is the day we will all get a long much better.

    thats my main point.

be who you feel, thats all great and dandy and what this country ultimately is about. but a gay pride parade is just as stupid as a heterosexual pride parade. Im just a person who coudnt give a damn wabout who you lay with, and i sure as hell am not gonna throw my sex life in your face either.

    - - - Updated - - -

there is a lot of difference between a parade or festival in which one is about who you like to sex it up with and the other being about a culture, music, food, etc. etc.

bull(*)(*)(*)(*), ive partied at gay bars before. my opinion has nothing to do at all with hating gay people. just because you dont like a sexual pride parade doesnt make you homophobic.

What makes you think that gay pride parades are not about culture, food, music etc?

Having attended many such parades, I still am not seeing the difference other than one having to do with gender preference and another about national origin.

    - - - Updated - - -

So you would object to Gay Pride Parades if they consisted entirely of hot dykes making out with each other?

sexual attraction is not a culture, nor does sexual preference have anything to do with food, music or even history.

once again, a parade about sexual preference is not the same as a festival of culture, food and music. one is about what makes you hot and the other is about something actually relevant . im sorry your pc eyes deny you from seeing that.

yup, because its dumb as hell. congrats, women kissing eachother......big (*)(*)(*)(*)ing deal.

Relevant? What makes one relevant an not another? We have all sorts of parades in the United States- Mardi Gras is a great example of an irrelevant parade- a celebration spun off of a religious tradition that has taken on a life of its own.

The Mummers Parade is a grand old tradition- and it is every bit as wierd as any Pride Parade.

This is America- and communities can celebrate however they would like- and yes there is a 'gay' community.

Heck think about the Rose Parade

This event began as a promotional effort by Pasadena's distinguished Valley Hunt Club. In the winter of 1890, the club members brainstormed ways to promote the "Mediterranean of the West." They invited their former East Coast neighbors to a mid-winter holiday, where they could watch games such as chariot races, jousting, foot races, polo and tug-of-war under the warm California sun. The abundance of fresh flowers, even in the midst of winter, prompted the club to add another showcase for Pasadena's charm: a parade would precede the competition, where entrants would decorate their carriages with hundreds of blooms. The Tournament of Roses was born.

"In New York, people are buried in snow," announced Professor Charles F. Holder at a Club meeting. "Here our flowers are blooming and our oranges are about to bear. Let's hold a festival to tell the world about our paradise."

During the next few years, the festival expanded to include marching bands and motorized floats. The games on the town lot (which was re-named Tournament Park in 1900) included ostrich races, bronco busting demonstrations and a race between a camel and an elephant (the elephant won). Reviewing stands were built along the Parade route, and Eastern newspapers began to take notice of the event. In 1895, the Tournament of Roses Association was formed to take charge of the festival, which had grown too large for the Valley Hunt Club to handle.

The Tournament of Roses has come a long way since its early days. The Rose Parade’s elaborate floats now feature high-tech computerized animation and exotic natural materials from around the world. Although a few floats are still built exclusively by volunteers from their sponsoring communities, most are built by professional float building companies and take nearly a year to construct. The year-long effort pays off on New Year’s morning, when millions of viewers around the world enjoy the Rose Parade.

I think you have to turn in your heterosexual male club card if you don't enjoy the sight of two beautiful women kissing each other.

I just like what each of them is doing.

Well then guess what? I'll be blunt with you too. I don't give a f*** what you think. If you're so damn sensitive that you can't understand why a group of people that has been severely oppressed want to get together one day a year and have some fun, then screw you. If one day a year pisses you off so much, you need to grow the f*** up. You're the one with the problem.

And furthermore, heterosexuality is shoved down our throats daily and consistently. Do you not watch TV, see films or ads? Hell, just walk down the street.

    Now you have my opinion.

these things do have historical relevance though, and again its not about a skin color or sexual orientation. and i neer said they had to be relevant, but at the same time i just dont approve of a sexual orientation parade, thats just me. And again i dont care who is putting on the show lol.

there is a difference in not liking 2 hot ass women kissing and not approving of a whole parade that attributes to it lol. now if we were in a house party or something where kids are not invited, then by all means go at it with whoever the hell you feel appropriate to get down with because frankly we are all adults and anyone who doesnt like it can get the (*)(*)(*)(*) out or go to another room lol. But as for a whole parade, meh i gotta put my foot down somewhere because i feel some things should just remain "indoors" so to speak no matter the sexual orientation.

I can't argue with that. Well I could, but personal preferences are personal preferences. :)

One more time- where did I say you're against gay people? Where? Nowhere. However, I'm getting a little bit tired of you misrepresenting Pride. There are families, churches and schools all involved. Earlier, I referred you to a previous post and links to the entire broadcast of the Chicago Pride. Yes, here it is broadcast in its entirety on TV on ABC. Go back, take a look, and tell me how "inappropriate" is it for families. I even gave the entire list of participants in that post. Go look, and tell me how it is not family friendly. I dare you.

yeah i looked at it and the Lakeview float at the 5:30 mark that has dudes dancing in thongs and little speedo's comes to mind as well as the tranny showing off his/her big tits like a $2 hooker. It was all good with the Bikers, the school kids and such as well as the ex military present, but then like all Gay Pride parades we gotta see them be half naked showing off their bulges like they are in a strip club. I mean is that even necessary? And thats exactly what im talking about, why is that even necessary at a so called family friendly event?

and thats only on part 1. i wouldnt doubt to see more men bearing as much as possible to the children in the crowd.

can you tell me how in any way that kind of display is family friendly?

Did you see anything that you would not see at the beach? You also forgot the mayor. Keep watching, I show up later with the hockey team.

BTW- speedos, yes, thongs, no. I saw no thongs. BTW- the 5:30 mark is the military guys. There is no one in thongs or speedos. So you didn't watch. No surprise there.

sorry no i dont see any men, gay or straight dancing like they are horny dogs at the beach. yes we see the once in awhile "speedo" guy strutting his stuff like a french tourist lol, but i have never seen a group of dudes in speedo's getting down like they were the main attraction at a strip club lol.

and i saw the mayor at the beginning. like i said i dont have a problem with most of what is going on at this particular parade, but it could honestly go without speedo dancers and tranny hooker lol. If the tranny was in a dress or something that would be alright and i wouldnt have anything against it. But shaking her very large tits like she trying to sell them is not family friendly.

which one are you with the hockey team? havent seen them yet.

Beginning of part 4. BTW, why did you say there were guys dancing in speedos in part 1 at 5:30? Those were military vets and they were in full dress. Also, there were no transexuals shaking their tits in part 1. Did you really watch?

I'm hoping you did, because most everyone else would not.
