I think an 'elector' is a person who castes their vote in the Electoral College election.

I think Hillary means that, as part of the electoral college vote, she will cast her vote for the candidate who will win the popular vote in New York.

Huh? Isn't that an automatic given? Or does this 'elector' have some choice? I thought that if a State went Red, then all its EC votes were set in concrete and automatically go to Trump?

Depends on the state. In some states, electors have to vote with the population of their area. In other states, they can switch and get fined.

    Wow..

The whole election has been turned upside-down...

Especially, since Hillary is an Elector in such a Heavily-Contested swing state...

    Major stuff (for sure)...

Time to open an FEC investigation. :flagus:

That is bizarre!!! So, if NY went rogue and voted Red, Clinton could use her 'elector' vote to defy the popular choice of Red, and actually vote Blue....and all she cops is a fine? Really?

    You misunderstand a key point.

Clinton is ONLY an Elector, IF the state goes Blue.

If the state went Red, there would be a different slate of electors.

    WOW...

A Former Senator being chosen as an Elector...?

    This is Unprecedented...:bored:

The FEC needs to get involved...

    Democracy is at risk.

Not sure about New York, but in some states, yes.

    Here's a bit more detail:

We've had 150 'faithless Electors'- Electors that vote for someone other than who they were supposed to- in the history of the Electoral College. Faithless Electors havn't changed the outcome of a single election. Yet.

It is your position that a party should distance itself from someone who engages in immoral behaviour?

How’s your that working out for you?

In principle yes. But the state has to send electors to Washington to actually cast those votes.

PLEASE let Hillary have another cabinet post when Biden wins. That woman is amazing! Just like Nancy Pelosi ... That's why they have so many jealous detractors.

    “Sex slaves” sounds illegal.

Are you talking about illegal behavior or immoral behavior. Or is immoral ok up to a point but no farther?

sex slaves are illegal. The dems seem fine that one of the keystone speakers are biden convention was getting back rubs from one, one that happened to be a slave of one of their big donors, maybe that’s why

are morality maybe different, but i thought we could all agree sex slaves are a bridge to far
