And since AQ and its offshoots are on the rise all over the globe, Americans will likely be at a greater risk from decentralized terror attacks originating from overseas going forward. They should not put their faith in the state to protect them either. They only provide the illusion of safety.

They've got cops for that (*)(*)(*)(*) and police reports are public record if one chooses to peruse them. That doesn't mean its a great idea to plaster the shooters face and crazed ramblings all over the net and 24/7 news networks like he's some kind of ******ned celebrity! its (*)(*)(*)(*)ing retarded and inspires copycats.
And there STILL doesn't need to be a law preventing it. If you have to mandate common (*)(*)(*)(*)ing sense and decency you might as well kill yourself cause its all over but the fireworks from that point.

Oh and one last thought on background checks, I do not know how it is done in other states but when I go and purchase a handgun here in Texas, we fill out a long form and on that form it asks if you are convicted felon, are under treatment for a mental illness along with 20 or so other questions, this is sent out for verification and once returned, usually in less than 1 hour, you are free to walk out of the store with your purchase. If that is not doing a background check what is? What more could anyone do that what we do here in Texas?

So you recgonize the shooters culpability in his crimes but not the way he went about it and where he got the guns and if he had BG checks? Oh thats not news. All you wanna do is cover up the gun aspect of his crimes

Not saying it should be a law, I think it should be an informal agreement in the media, just like the media doesn't mention the race of the criminal in most stories. I just think if the media truly cares about the problem, they would stop glorifying the shooter.

And yes, publicizing the beliefs of a deranged shooter that justifies his actions is glorifying him.

They are crazy. That's the reason they are doing these things. The reason a crazy person does something isn't really that important. For example, why do we need to know that the Aurora shooter did his thing because he was kicked out of grad school (and was crazy)? How does that illuminate anything? All it does is give other crazy failed graduate students an idea.....

    - - - Updated - - -

SO tell us how he got his guns. Just don't plaster his picture and his crazy reasoning everywhere. More than one of the mass shooters has mentioned that they want to be famous. Stop making them (in)famous, and it will slow this down much more than BG checks. +

1: maybe another parent saw the news and figured that is what their kid is like and then got them help.
2: not all shooters are crazy. Dorner wasn't. He was up against a corrupt police force. Saying all mass shooters are crAzy is a cop out to the real reasons.
3: anyone can be famous in the internet age

The way he went about it can easily be reported. So can where and how the weapons were acquired. What I don't want them to report, as a matter of common (*)(*)(*)(*)ing sense and decency, is that persons name and face over and over and over and over and any crazed ramblings they may have released explaining and gloryfying their own actions. Again: What happened, and how? Go ahead. But Who Who Who over and over and over and all the manifesto's and crazed bull(*)(*)(*)(*) these whackadoodles put out? I don't want them to put that up there because YES it glorifies the shooter and inspires copycats to do likewise so that THEY can be famous too.
And again: I wouldn't make a law about it. Its simply what I want.

As to all I wanna do: O you're a mind reader now! Tell me what I'm thinking right....... now.
I might as well say that all you want to do is glorify the shooter in the hopes a copycat will pop up and you can again blame an inanimate object for the crime. < But that is as true as what you said of me. IE not true. You mind keeping it to things we've discussed rather than the nonsense you come up with?

    The definition of glorify

a : to make glorious by bestowing honor, praise, or admiration
b : to elevate to celestial glory

I don't see anyone glorifying these mass shooters. A few like Dorner were sympathetic but I don't recall the media making him a hero or praising the man.

If you are gonna use a word be sure you use it right.

More cars than guns. And in fact more traffic deaths than gun deaths. The solution is clear: Ban cars.

    1. Please show me an instance of this.
    2. Dorner was crazy. No sane person does what he did, even if it was a corrupt police force.
    3. Not really.

Articles admiring the shooter. Go ahead.

Sorry unless they are justifying his actions and admiring the shooter they are not glorifying anyone.

You can't create your own definition of the word to suit your opinion.

Does the type of vehicle really matter? Any automobile is capable of it (Some more than others).

Not in any way shape or form like guns are. http://www.michaelzwilliamson.com/blog/item/we-need-to-regulate-cars-the-way-we-regulate-guns
That hits the salient points with more wit than I can muster at this point.

Fortunately the Silly Old Bat only represents the views of leftist elites and the gun grabbing minority. Americans have the Constitution to protect us and, if that fails, the means to protect us from abuse. Besides, she will not run.

And unlike guns you'd be ABLE to do that since driving is not a constitutionally protected right. It is instead a privilege.
