Yes. I hope the US has left for good. Here's another theory on why the US was really there.

It might turn out that they're both true.

Here’s some learning from history for you.

Adolph Hitler knew that fighting a two front war had been disastrous for Germany during World War I. Yet he attacked Russia before he had conquered the British Isles. Hitler should have known that Napoleon’s downfall started with conducting a war during the Russia winter, yet he set himself up for it. Hitler might have known that treating citizens who have given up the fight humanely helps to win wars, as the Romans did. But he treated the Russian citizens, who welcomed his troops as liberators from Stalin, like crap.

Hitler should have known that Julius Caesar, the Spanish Armada and Napoleon failed to take England because of the English Channel and ocean surrounding it. He also should have known that the entrance of the United States into World War I tipped the balance in that stalemated contest. Yet he declared war on the U.S. a week after Peal Harbor.

Fortunately Hitler ignored or was ignorant of history. It made an huge difference.

Have you heard the theory that the Germans didn't want a war with Russia but Russia was preparing to invade Western Europe so they decided to carry out a preventive strike?

Germany had begun moves to invade Russia in August 1940:
(Operation Sea Lion to invade Britain was initially planned for 10 Aug 1940, then announced it was delayed to Sept but quietly canceled to focus on an invasion of Russia)
    https://warfarehistorynetwork.com/article/operation-sea-lion-hitlers-cancelled-invasion-of-britain/

28 Aug 1940 Major Graf Von Kielsmansegg in 1st Armored Division based near Orleans, France, was dragged from a cinema on the night of August 28, 1940, and told to report to his chief of staff. “As I entered his office I was sure that we were finally going to be told that Sea Lion had been given the green light. I asked, ‘Are we on our way?’ He said, ‘Yes, we’re on our way but not to England, to East Prussia.’ So then we knew Sea Lion was a dead duck.”

Some details on the German Nazi attack on Russia:
    https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/operation-barbarossa-and-germanys-failure-in-the-soviet-union
Operation Barbarossa (extracts from IWM - Imperial War Museum)

Operation 'Barbarossa' - named after the all-conquering Medieval Holy Roman Emperor Frederick I - was launched on 22 June 1941.

Over three and a half million German and other Axis troops attacked along a 1,800-mile front. A total of 148 divisions - 80 per cent of the German Army - were committed to the enterprise. Seventeen panzer divisions, formed into four Panzer Groups, formed the vanguard with 3,400 tanks. They were supported by 2,700 aircraft of the Luftwaffe. It was the largest invasion force to date.
    ...
The Soviets had massed large forces on their western frontier, but they were under orders not to provoke the Germans. Although mistrustful of Hitler, Stalin did not believe that he would attack so soon, despite the ominous German build-up and a stream of intelligence warnings. He had some 5 million men available immediately and a total of 23,000 tanks, but the Red Army was still unprepared when the Germans struck.
    ...
Approximately 2.8 million Soviet POWs were killed by the German armed forces and other special units between June 1941 and February 1942, mainly through deliberate starvation and exposure to the elements. It was one of the most shocking acts of human atrocity in history.

Adolf Hitler made that claim as justification for the attack, and the US has used
the same excuse ever since for defending ourselves against every country we've
been at war with from Vietnam onward.

I know that's a possibility, but how can you be sure?

I like history... just don't tell anyone I'm related to Abraham Lincoln... shh

On a serious note: I get that the victor can change what really happened and how & why it happened - in the eyes of dumbshits (for lack of a better word) But - there is much that can not be changed, and is understood (by folks with half a brain) to be the truth.

My grandmother had a cousin who claimed she was related to Jefferson Davis. It would have had to have been an indirect link. None of Jefferson Davis' six children had kids. One of them died in a fall at the Confederate Whitehouse in Richmond.

This ferrotype could be called "the odd couple." General P.G.T. Beauregard was a political opponent of Jefferson Davis. If there had been a Confederate presidential election, Beauregard would have opposed him. There had been thoughts that an election would be held in 1862, but it never came to pass.
