hitting faster is better than being slow

    cause your enemy will hit YOU if you aint faster. Often, enemies come in groups and do their best to take you by surprise. Overwhelming, effective violence is your only option, if you didn't detect them first.

    as long as you take the time to make sure your not shooting friend

    friends should know better than to get in the way during a fight, or to look like enemies in that fight.

    I don't know where you get this "often" in describing the nature of belligerent attack against the average guy. In a post apocalyptic situation, maybe, but in the course of going about your daily business?
    I get a picture of Daffy Duck on opening day. Someone has already blown his tail feathers off, and his union suit is sticking out. Everywhere he goes, someone is shooting at him. You can't be ready for every possible situation.
