Hollywood is at it again-The Oscars a place to protest

There's a few good movies out there that deserve Oscars, but the stage is once again set by the Hollywood elite to protest Trump's policies. The anti-immigration left are in full swing tonight! Commercials, speeches, actors wearing little pins on their designer dresses as signs of protest for one thing or another. Just about every one whose any one has made a political statement tonight. I can appreciate a great performance in a movie, but why can't they just accept their Oscar without bringing politics into it. Time to go to bed!

 

The lefties that run Hollywood require these folks to be lefties also. They are all asshats.

 

Trump gets on tv and spews bs. Pay backs are hell and righties better get use to it.

 

The First Amendment applies to them as well.
And if they can use their influence toward a cause for the greater good, then we should be all for it.

And protesting against Trump is for the greater good of the country.

 

I'm watching the Oscars as I write this. It's not as political as it's been in previous years.

After Meryl Streep's shameless political meltdown in the Emmy's, Hollywood got hammered and reminded that most rational people don't want to hear politics from people who live in a make believe world. At least they're toning things down. Some of it has actually been funny.

 

They always come out from that box called Hollywood if they find it really required.
We could not do anything that's who they really are.

 

Actually, the left had their chance to protest Trump at the ballot box. They failed. Acting like whinny petulant children on a daily basis is not for the greater good of the country. But I'm not expecting you to get that.

 

Obama was a great actor, they probably just respect that about him.

 

Not my fault the right had anger issues they couldn't separate from the ballot box. Next time, take a valium before you vote, okay?

I put it out like this. Anyone who wants to deport people, is probably not someone who would help out the homeless or the elderly.

Uuum. The anger issues are quite apparent from the Left considering the violence and damage they've done the past few years especially. Lets compare riots between the two sides, shall we? Oh never mind. There haven't been any violent protests destroying business or killing cops that can be attributed to the Right at all. The Left has that statistic all wrapped up.

I'll put it like this. Anyone against DEPORTING ILLEGALS are traitors and wish for this country's destruction. Deportation and the elderly or homeless have about as much in common as cars and jello.

For decades, America has been under attack from within. The plan is to create a borderless socialist utopia in a newly developed global system and marketplace. This insidious plan is promoted by groups of people, many of which are not even aware that they are being used or what the ultimate plan is. Simply stated, they are controlled by their masters. Their anti-American masters. The globalist elites.

Money is often the tool of manipulation and control. Anyone who actively participates to promote this insidious plan (knowingly or unknowingly), is rewarded with extremely high pay and often times given grand titles or highly esteemed positions that boost their egos and keeps them motivated.

Hollywood is a prime example of a very large group of people controlled by those who would work covertly to change America from within. Those who abide by the policies set by their masters are allowed into the group and benefit by living luxurious lifestyles.

No system of control & manipulation is perfect, which is why there are still some true Americans within Hollywood who have not been duped into this socialist mindset that is destroying America today, but for the most part the majority are controlled and they apply peer pressure to others to be the same.

If you understand and agree, then there's nothing more POWERFUL you can do than to boycott Hollywood and all it's products. That is, if you desire to make America great again.

Agreed. You want to be all huffy and make you political statements, there are times and places to do that. An award ceremony is neither the time nor the place.

So just to be clear, you believe it ok to make political statements at awards ceremonies? That's just part of a person's First Amendment rights, correct? I'm so glad to hear that Joy Villa's Grammy dress has your support...

Ask anybody that has been there, Hollywood sucks. It is ancient. Old buildings. Not historic. Century City looks a lot better. I won't cross the street to go to Hollywood.

This country has gone thorough a lot of hell in my 78 years. And right now, the Democrats are bringing shame on this nation. We once were a good people.

 

What will happen is they, the nutty Democrats are waking up the sleeping dragon. When we storm their places and raise commotions, they will find out they are not the only ones able to protest so the TV splashes it all over the place.

 

Not when you protest every single thing he does with most having no merit. After all, if anyone protested anything Obama did they were declared RACIST!

Yes, and those attacks on Obama’s protesters were just as flawed as yours are now. You referred to “the ballot box”, clearly implying that elections are the only legitimate source of protest. The quality and validity of any individual protest or objection is a separate question and that there are (and always have been) countless ignorant and dishonest protests isn’t a good or valid reason to object to protests in general.

 

I don't think anyone but a blind supporter would decry honest protest. But the left has picked on the most trivial of things to get outraged over to the point where all the crying wolf is now falling on deaf ears. That's because you're one of the geniuses who thought that if you issued driver's licenses to 3 million illegals and register them to vote in Southern Kalifornia, you could win the Presidential election. You geniuses forgot that that's not the way it works here. So, you geniuses decided to protest the electoral college that's at the core of our representative republic. Keep telling yourselves you're geniuses so we can keep winning.

 

I agree with that (apart from the implication that it’s only a “left” thing) but the theme of this thread and your response to it seemed to be less an objection to the specifics of their protests and more an objection that they protest at all.
