Lincoln deserves more blame than the people who wouldn't stop enslaving people with dark skin without a war? Really?
The Southern Plantation owners did not create the slaves out of thin air....those who wound up(very small fraction of them) on southern plantations were enslaved long before they were shipped down south. They were captured in african wars and instead of killing them the African Chiefs who had captured and enslaved them .....then decided to sell them as slaves....if they could not sell them...they killed them. In a nutshell the Southern Slaves were quite fortunate....first that they were not killed and secondly they wound up in the Southern U.S. instead of South America where the great, great majority went and they were really abused down there....in the South for the most part they were treated very humanely, had plenty to eat, had adequate housing and clothing, were allow to select wives and in general had a very happy life...if you doubt this you should read some of the "slave narratives" actual accounts of former slaves...as recorded by the federal writers project during the great depression when many of them were still alive and happy to talk about the good ole days down on the plantation. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...=_pgWXd6bFd_LIJNXtCPtKw&bvm=bv.87269000,d.aWw
Federal policy has (*)(*)(*)(*)ed the South over too. Secession is required. The CSA wasn't much better than the Union. Get it right this time.
treason n. the crime of betraying one's country, defined in Article III, section 3 of the U. S. Constitution: "Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort." Treason requires overt acts and includes the giving of government security secrets to other countries, even if friendly, when the information could harm American security. Treason can include revealing to an antagonistic country secrets such as the design of a bomber being built by a private company for the Defense Department. Treason may include "espionage" (spying for a foreign power or doing damage to the operation of the government and its agencies, particularly involved in security) but is separate and worse than "sedition" which involves a conspiracy to upset the operation of the government. no President should ever be assassinated, their terms are only 4 years, you vote them out if you do not like them, that is the American way
How many Presidents have been assasinated? Several...some might construe that as a kind of precedent. We have never had a coup de etat...always a first time for everything though.
are you calling for a violent overthrow of Obama? - - - Updated - - - is that your agenda? to make a society tolerable for racist whites?
JWB was a traitor. He received a traitor's death. Those that honor him are also traitors and should suffer the same fate.
Booth sided with a weak ideology, and got what he deserved in both real life and in history. Losers do not get to write history. Social Darwinism has passed judgement on his way of life and found it wanting. There is no way to defend the institution of slavery. There can be no peaceful coexistence with such a state. It must be assimilated or destroyed. While Lincoln was certainly no moral paragon by modern standards he was head and shoulders above booth.
The CSA ruined secession for people who genuinely want independence. Their ambition was to control the Federal beast, not to escape from it. We peacefully coexist with North Korea. If we can peacefully coexist with them we can peacefully coexist with anyone. The problem was that the South wanted to force slavery on others through the fugitive slave act. That was unacceptable. The Confederates were tyrants themselves, but nothing can compare to Lincoln. The framers of the 1788 constitution may have (*)(*)(*)(*)ed America, but Lincoln irreparably (*)(*)(*)(*)ed it. There is no going back. We're all redcoats now.
Who dis 'we' you speak of.....irregardless we must face reality and the fact that assassinations have and will continue to change the course of history..........a new study suggests that political assassinations can change the course of individual nations. "We find that assassinations of autocrats produce substantial changes in the country's institutions, while assassinations of democrats do not," conclude authors Benjamin Jones and Benjamin Olken in Hit Or Miss? The Effect of Assassinations on Institutions and War
Quite to the contrary just a lilttle while ago I pointed out that no one...at least no thinking person would want Joe Biden in that office....well maybe a drunk irishman. I have no agenda but the truth...I just report the facts maam. Who said dat? Anyhow.....I do not worry about waycist whites....I do worry about racist blacks....now spin that...hehheh
Well you do have a way with woids......but I disagree with you about the Confederates.....I do believe they wanted their own nation and naively thought they could prevail. We are forced to put up with N. Korea for two reasons....they are a nuclear power thanks to bill clinton and China has demonstrated they would protect them in any confrontation with the U.S. The danger from N. Korea is greater than many understand.....it comes in at least two forms....China could use them as a proxy to attack America....if N. Korea launches a ICBM with a nuclear device and hits say...Los Angeles with it...what would America do? We might I say might retaliate against N. Korea...but would we do that if China said you attack N. Korea and we wipe out your west coast. Bottom line Bill Clinton made a huge, huge mistake allowing N. Korea to obtain nuclear weapons. After the Taiwan Strait Crisis of 1996, one astute Chinese general opined that next time, America would rather give up Taiwan than lose Los Angeles to a nuclear strike.
Just goes to show you Jefferson Davis was right....the so called Civil War settled nothing....the same issues that caused that war are still around.
slavery no longer exists, thank God. it was a huge stain on the American people, and a violation of the Declaration of Independence.
The list of characters change but the issues remain. Aka we remain a divided nation....and are getting more divided as time goes by. As has been said "a house divided cannot stand" - - - Updated - - - You must not get out much. Slavery is still very much with us....more so in Africa than anywhere else.
people are being forced to work without any compensation for their labor? families are being ripped apart and sold off to plantations? yeah, in prison maybe.
I always stand up for the underdog....in the last 100 years blacks have killed more whites than vice versa...also blacks have killed more blacks than any other race. http://www.fathersmanifesto.net/genocide.htm
