In yet another stellar example of the ‘success’ of the UK’s slack border control, the UK now, for the first time ever, has the contagious disease spreading called Monkeypox. The third case now discovered is a healthcare worker in Blackpool, The Independent reports. The patient has been moved from Blackpool Victoria Hospital to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in order to be quarantined in isolation in the hopes of preventing the spread of the virus. The previous two cases of the disease were patients that had each travelled to Nigeria. The facility in the northeast treated the two patients that contracted the virus. Deputy Director at Public Health England (PHE) National Infection Service, Dr. Nick Phin, stated: “This healthcare worker cared for the patient before a diagnosis of Monkeypox was made. We have been actively monitoring contacts for 21 days after exposure to detect anyone presenting with an illness so that they can be assessed quickly. It is therefore not wholly unexpected that a case has been identified.” “This person has been isolated and we are taking a highly precautionary approach to ensure that all contacts are traced.” PHE has stated that they are taking a “highly precautionary approach” to the virus, which can be serious in rare cases, adding that it was monitoring closely anyone who has been in contact with an infected person. The first case in the UK ever was a Nigerian citizen and naval officer at a base in Cornwall. They are being treated at a specialist unit at Royal Free Hospital in London. PHE is working to trace people who shared their flight to the UK. The second case is a person in Blackpool who visited Nigeria. Nigeria had the largest outbreak of the disease ever seen in 2017. They, also, are being treated at Royal Free Hospital in London. About Monkeypox: The virus is spread through close contact and takes 16 days for symptoms to appear. Symptoms include fever, headaches and a rash that can form crusted blisters to appear. The disease is related to smallpox though much milder. It was first identified in humans in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Historically it has been spread on the African continent through handling of infected monkeys. It is also thought that Gambian giant rats, squirrels and other rodents are the likely source. Deaths have been recorded, most commonly among the young The World Health Organisation reports that one in 10 cases are fatal – however their reports are predominantly countries with undeveloped health systems. Consumption of inadequately cooked meat from animals or rodents carrying the disease is another potential risk factor, according to the WHO. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...disease-spread-treatment-uk-phe-a8555471.html I'm glad for Americans they have a better immigration control. Europe will never be the same.
The first patient was a Nigerian working here and the second was a British tourist to Nigeria. Immigration isn’t relevant here as any checks on immigrants wouldn’t have applied in either of these cases.
At least after Obama left office that is. https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/obama-floods-america-with-diseases/
But they surely denote that the entire European continent is doomed. Apparently. So I hear. From the internet and it never lies to me, unlike fake news MSM. BTW, Assange has effectively been disappeared since early summer. I'm surprised the PF Troubadours Of Truth haven't been all over that white guy being silenced. He probably needs more hatred of Muslims or something. And, is anything off topic in an MGB thread?
Has anyone here ever heard that Africa is a testing ground for manmade diseases? Development of biological weapons? I heard it many years ago and I brushed it off as a crazy conspiracy theory. But, look at the strange diseases have come out of Africa: AIDS, Ebola and now this Monkeypox. Makes me wonder. I hope it isn't true.
What if we found out there was a secret society in the middle of the Congo straight up a'la Black Panther/Wakanda? These diseases that keep coming out of the DRC are actually biological warfare being created with vibranium based technology..... Where is my joint
Small beer in comparison to the vile, cynical sickness the US exports to Nigeria. https://qz.com/africa/1034362/nigerians-really-love-donald-trump-well-some-of-them/
Yes, a returning nurse who had been working in a stricken area in Africa was found to have it: even though it was detected in the very earliest stage - whilst she was on the plane I think it was - and there was sheer panic in high places; and even with the highest level of care she almost didn't make it. So imagine what it would be like if an infected anonymous immigrant arrived who wasn't detected, and went about his business within a community? It would be any western country's worst nightmare.
I mean, I do like that there is "sheer panic" at high levels because it shows we are at least trying to be on the ball, but I don't know if the reporting of certain events are at those same high levels. I am truly of the opinion that news, any news, is not to be trusted in the slightest when looking at a single source or a single viewpoint
It was 'sheer panic' that they might catch it themselves if there were to be an epidemic; those in high places don't GAF for the peasantry. Crikey you're more cynical than me.
I think in the case of Africa and China, there are a lot of diseases that have evolved to pass from animal to people. Some on this board would direct you here https://www.globalresearch.ca/us-mi...io-weapons-and-disease-causing-agents/5605307
It may be even more complex than that. Monkeypox has the same source as 'Simian Immunodeficiency Virus'. Perhaps, inspired by the 'Planet of the Apes' series, those monkeys are trying to tell us something. I'll certainly be avoiding them from now on.
