Please pray for my aunt, she was in a horse accident last Friday. She's still in a coma, but she's breathing on her own now without a ventilator. She does have a brain injury though. Also, has anyone known anyone who was in a horse related accident? Maybe you could give me some advice on what to expect going forward.

My wife has owned horses most of her life, me most of my married life. We got out of horses on our place about 5 years ago as we are nearing retirement, want less commitments, and desire to travel. There have been multiple injuries over the years but nothing as severe as your aunt, a couple of broken bones was the worse.

On brain injuries in general, you can expect a lot of waiting, and testing, and if/when she regains conscious a possible a long recovery.

I wish her the best and a speedy recovery.

My aunt passed away Friday. This is devastating.
