House conservatives have filed articles of impeachment in an effort to oust Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the overseer of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

The articles, filed late Wednesday by Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) — two top Trump allies — blast Rosenstein for what they allege was a failure to respond to congressional document demands.

Another Trump win on the way or just a ploy to force his hand?

Disgusting behavior by Trumpists but not unexpected. Rosenstein has done nothing wrong but because he will neither shutdown the Russia investigation nor swear personal fealty to Trump, his job is threatened.

Personally I am ready to give a PRESIDENT PENCE a go at the big chair.

It was a meaningless wimp-out by the the masters of the Trump-betas, designed to placate the rubes. They chose to not file it as a privileged resolution, so it won't get a vote on the House floor. That's the last thing the GOP wanted, as it would have caused a GOP civil war, and then failed in a most humiliating fashion.

Jim Jordan has his own legal troubles due to his failure to report the pedophile sports doctor at Ohio State, while he was the wrestling coach.

Nothing to do with Trump in my opinion.

This guy is pissing off congress, that's their motivation.

He's not giving them what they are asking for.

Not a smart move when they control your job...I think Trump is sitting down, eating popcorn, and simply watching this one.

Nothing wrong? It's OK when Mueller goes over everyone who has some connection to Trump with a fine toothed comb in order to find something, anything to charge them with. But when it's your side it's perfectly OK to ignore subpoenas at will and face no repercussions.

House conservatives move to impeach Rosenstein
Rosenstein is both an attorney & a professional public servant who has dedicated his entire work life to government service and law enforcement. He's worked equally well under Presidents of both parties, though I've heard & read he's personally a conservative. Point here is, he's doing his job PERFECTLY. He's maintaining discrete secrecy during an ongoing legal investigation, which is EXACTLY what the law requires in order to protect the rights of those being investigated--protecting them from public discrimination based on leaks that could potentially prove false. The Republican Congressmen filing the complaint & impeachment papers are doing an injustice not only to Rosenstein himself, but to all Americans. They are effectively politicizing a legal investigation. When you do that, you force law enforcement officials to alter their loyalty from the law itself to a political personality. When that happens they work for that politician, not the law. The law becomes a weapon for that politician to slit the throat of anyone who opposes them. Then, America ceases to have a democracy or a republic. It becomes a dictatorship & you and I lose every right we've come to believe we have thru the Bill of Rights. This unwarranted act on the part of a few extremist Alt-Right Congressmen is a real threat to the long established "rule of law." Every one of those Congressmen are ignoring their own oath to follow & protect the U.S. Constitution, & deserve to lose their seats this November.

Congress's subpoenas of the Mueller investigation are designed and intended solely to disrupt and obstruct that investigation. Even so the Justice Department has delivered hundreds of thousands of documents. Even so the demands of the majority Party in Congress continue at a pace that shows they cannot possibly be bothering to read what they are receiving. What is important to understand is the entire point of these subpoenas is to overwhelm Justice with bureaucratic and deeply partisan demands.

Subpoenas have not been ignored. The agency has been deliberately swamped in them with over a half million documents already delivered. Even a FISA Court document has been released, 500 pages long. First time in history, and a very bad precedent.

My side? My side is the United States of America, which is under constant attack by both Russia and Communist China. Mueller's job is to follow the trail of Putin's attack on our elections wherever it leads. Any crimes he discovers along the way, well that's too damned bad for the criminal. No sacred cows, no holding back. I don't give a **** if that effort burns some politicians or dirty businessmen or crooked lawyers.

Trump keeps trying to make the investigation about himself, making it personal and completely ignoring how almost none of it has been about him. But look at the indictments, these are mostly people Trump never met, never had dealings with. Mostly Russian thugs employed by Putin to spy on the USA and meddle with our elections. What Americans are being caught up in prosecutions have been for their own bad deeds.

Trump's behavior in this thing is weird. He should be cheering on the FBI and intelligence services for exposing the Russian schemes. He should be appalled that anyone he had business dealings with or who worked for him was involved. He should fire those people instantly.

But no, Trump spins the thing up entirely about himself. Why? It doesn't make sense and that behavior is too worrying to be ignored.

My side? I carry the Constitution in my head and my heart and a gun on my belt every day and everywhere. I don't know who's side you are on, but that's my side.
