Much has been discussed by the talking heads about the number of people who will vote for Trump but are hesitant to admit that to a polling company because of the media's war on Trump. How big do you think that is? Do you believe it at all? I think it's probably 1% or 1.5%. I think the phenomenom exists, but it's small. It could be partially negated by the same situation with Hillary. Some people may be too embarrassed to admit they'll vote for Hillary just because she's a woman.
Since the Left attacks Trump supporters probably the people who won't admit that they are going to vote for Trump are a fairly substantial number of voters.
I agree that if it exists, it's small. We've already had ample opportunity to test the idea and it hasn't worked out. Paul Ryans Wisconsin primary challenger Paul Nehlen, a pro Trump activist, was easily beaten by Ryan by an astonishing 84% of the vote. In Arizona John McCain beat challenger Kelli Ward 55% to 35% in spite of Ward linking herself to Trump. And in Florida, Little Marco Rubio, a long time Trump nemesis, beat pro Trump businessman Carlos Beruff 72% to 18%, in spite of joining the race late and being markedly unenthusiastic about returning to the Senate, so much so that he couldnt even promise to stay for a full 6 year term. Beruff put himself squarely in the Trump corner.
I think it's closer to 8%. This happened with Reagan. People weren't being honest with pollsters. I believe we'll see the same thing again. I also believe many rednecks will come out of the hills and hollers to vote. Way more than expected. And not near as many blacks will vote for Hillary as Obama. You're high if you think they will.
It's tough to say, the Trump campaign is the group really pushing this notion. I mean, who really wants to admit they are voting for a buffoon on election day? It's best to just quietly pull the lever for Trump and not admit to it. The same goes for Ms. Clinton 'secret' supporters, I'll bet there are a lot of women who will pull the lever for Hillary and not say a word about it to their Trump supporting spouses. The tip off is 'secret' - we'll likely never know unless some polling gurus can sort it out after the fact.
This has been talked about the entire primary season. Nate Silver undershot him throughout the primaries so consistently that I thought he should have just aimed higher. But when you are data driven you minimize what you can't quantify. So, I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a question for you. "Why was Trump constantly underestimated, every step of the way so far, and do you think his support is underestimated again in the General?"
I don't think there is a silent support for Trump. I think there's a lot of silent support for Hillary. Just as a small anecdote, I come from a very left leaning family, and I just went to check their facebook pages, and it's nothing but cute cat videos. I know how they're going to vote, but they're embarrassed. Come Christmas time, and I think they'll all pretend to have voted for Jill Stein if the subject ever comes up.
I think that huge numbers of Dem Party voters are just going to stay home on election day. No yard signs, no enthusiasm for Hillary, almost nobody showing up for her rallies? Yep, huge numbers ARE going to stay home rather than vote for corrupt and lying Hillary.
I have not witnessed any attacks by the left against Trumpeizdas. As regarding a hidden vote for Trump I am sure thst it us there but I am sure that there us a hidden vote fir Clinton. There are people who will bite for Hillary who will not say so in public because they have been bombarded by the negative barrage that Hillary has been hit with with , and yes a portion of it well deserved. Even those people who admitt that they will vote fir her donso with the explanation that they gave no choice being that trump is a Russian tool.
I hope you're right, but look at what's been happening. She has nobody going to her rallies, but she has plenty of supporters who really are secret. They show up at Trump rallies refusing to show their faces while attacking Trump supporters. They have protests where they don't want the media filming them. They burnt down Ferguson while hiding their faces and attacking white people. There is lots of secret support for Hillary, and they are as violent and radicalized as any ISIS member. Nobody is out there saying "I'm with her!" but come Tuesday, I think we're going to find that quite a lot of people are actually with her. These are your secret hillary supporters, and they are dangerous.
Trump has always been underestimated for the same reason Reagan was always underestimated. Their anti-Washington views are so foreign to the liberal establishment that the elites believed Reagan and Trump were freaks. They couldn't understand how sane individual could oppose big government.
I don't think people like that really care about voting at all, I doubt very few, if any of them will bother.
We know that some are on the democrat payroll as terrorists, but I'm not going to say they won't vote. I think they'll vote as many times as they possibly can.
I think the people in those photographs are just garden variety losers. They probably couldn't tell you what day it is.
If it exists, it must be the best kept secret around. I live in a conservative state but Ive seen little Trump support -- and I talk to a lot of people. Everyone is vocal about their preferences, but I cant think of anyone who has said theyre going to vote for Trump. Then, in my neighborhood, theres only one Trump sign, and the woman who put it up is the most obnoxious and least-liked person around here. Most neighbors consider her a Looney Tune. Guess well find out on Tuesday.
Here is a bit of information about "shy" Trump supporters: Among college educated voters Clinton Trump Online Poll: 53% 46% Phone Poll 60% 39% A swing of 7%. But read the whole thing: https://morningconsult.com/2016/11/03/yes-shy-trump-voters-no-wont-swing-election/
I think this is disturbingly accurate. I'm not in America, but I see this exact liberal incredulity all the time.
