There is no need to be rude. At least this person is motivated to work and you shouldnt put him down like that.

Ever consider teaching in High School maybe at a private school you hold an advance degree and there are programs to track people with advanced degrees into teaching in public schools here in Florida there should be options elsewhere. And for a private school if religious wouldn't necessarily need you to even have state licensure.

Another option is offer your services to homeschooling parents to teach advanced mathematics to their older children just limit class sizes to say ten and charge a fair rate for lessons say per month $80 a child and have a couple classes going. You could make a lot of money.

    HERE IS...
[IMG] for coming out and asking for help!! Takes guts, but also shows you have hope and look forward. I would suggest charge $8.00 to $10.00 an hour, if you are going to help some poor students. If you are affordable, then you will have more chances of getting clients. AND you are helping some other needy soul as well as yourself! Perhaps two students at a time for bargain price of $12.oo!!!
Besides tutoring you could also offer to be a dog walker!! Don't laugh... dogs don't mind a slow walk, as they always want to stop and sniff things. Maybe half an hour walks twice or three times a day? You would have to be a dog lover, though. Find out what the student-dog-walkers charge and ask a dollar less and add five extra minutes free!! You reap big benefits of getting gentle exercise, meeting people and getting fresh air!!

    Good luck!

If he is on disability, likely there is a limit to what he can earn in a month and keep his benefits.

It's rude to be concerned about someone's health because they are overweight?

I suppose, if you are that overly sensitive to a recommendation..

Look into temp agencies - they have a spectrum of job openings, some companies use them to test employees before hiring them.

I think you could teach high school math for those preparing for the SAT at "test preparation centers." Don't look for menial jobs.

You all forget... he doesn't drive. That limits him to his home and neighborhood.
I have one more suggestion: watch the stocks go up and down and play the stockmarket carefully. With PH brains that should not be a problem.
Another suggestion: Try for lunchroom supervisor in the elementary school. Only worthwhile if you can walk there.
Or apply at the closest mall as a shopping cart gatherer.
Or if you are good with plants offer your services as a waterer when people are on vacation.
All these little things add up and soon you'll be a rich and happy man.

Tutoring can be very rewarding... knowing you mentor someone who is struggling to better themselves.

I know autistic people who do tutoring. While they struggle with empathy, they tend to be patient and very, very informative.

I'm surprised that you haven't checked in at your local county courthouse and found out what county jobs you qualify for. A trip to your state employment service will net you a specialist that will counsel you for free and let you know what government jobs / programs fit your fact situation. In addition a counselor with the state dept. of labor can help you find jobs in your neighborhood - and all of this is free of charge. We pay taxes, so you are well advised to take advantage of the resources.

Do you live near a prison and can you pass a background check? They need tutors.
