I think that Matthews, Maddow, Hayes and ODonnell are the same as Hannity, Carlson, Ingragpham, and Dobbs....Not News but campaign tools for their respective parties. I have never seen any of the CNN pundit shows so I don’t know who they have there. I think many people are aware of what Trump is doing but they do not agree with much of it. Trump is continually tweeting everything he does and has the best tool to get his message out which is referred to as the bully pulpit. I don’t watch trash shows like the ones mentioned above to form my opinion of what Trump or anyone else is doing. I listen to his own words and decide if I agree what he says or does. I don’t need Sean Hannity or Rachael Maddow to tell me what to think. From watching and listening to Trump continually for over 3 years I have come to the conclusion that he is a lying braggart who is only out for himself and his billionaire buddies and does not give a rat’s ass about me or the great majority of the American people.

Tell me Lee, if Obama had created enough jobs that Blacks, Hispanics and Asians had the lowest unemployment in their history, that wouldn't be front page news? The difference between Faux and MSNBC is that while the latter most definitely reports the news from a liberal perspective they do not persistently and purposefully misinformed their audience by routinely lying to them as the former does.

Explain to me how Obama was suppose to juice the economy the way Trump did when the Repub controlled Congress Obama was dealing with would never have passed the tax cut they voted for with the Orange Fraud in the WH because it increased the deficit. According to her expert analysis, President Donald Trump’s administration edited out a question from a Reuters journalist asking whether Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted Trump to win the 2016 election during their meeting on July 16 in Helsinki.

 

Certainly anyone who wants to make an honest assessment of any situation will make themselves aware of all the pro's and cons. They will weight these things for relevance, importance and effects. Do their best to compensate for bias, so the picture is as accurate as possible. That is not taking place at all on the left; they are interested only in things which can be used in a derogatory or damaging way toward those who don't agree with them- they are literally unable to question their own logic and conclusions, which is a key function that any mature adult needs, and a key element in critical thinking. I would say this is a mental state which relates to the hate fad and the feeling that you gain superiority by blaming everything but you- and it allows those people to simply ignore the possibility that anything good is occurring unless they are happy about it. Doesn't speak well for us as human beings; if we lose the ability to rationally understand things, we lose the ability to fix anything and we stand to lose good judgment all together.

There is a lot of very immature mental mechanics going on here. All of us have what might be called a "tool box" between our ears- but those tools need to be mastered and handled skillfully to work well. If you think of how kids argue, especially spoiled ones who have never been taught responsibility, you can see there is a direct parallel to the behavior of the left today. It's normal for a 15 year old to think they know everything, but it's not normal for that illusion to carry through into middle age adulthood. I think we raised too many kids with the experimental ideologies of the hippie age. Instead of disciplining bad behavior, we told them it wasn't their fault and put them on Ritalin or other drugs. They were never unprepared for the real world, for self-sufficiency and adult responsibilities- and conditioned to know that if something isn't right in their view, somebody else is responsible and supposed to fix it so they will be happy.

That hasn't changed for many of them, and it's not a good place for an adult to be. The dangerous side of this beyond what they do to themselves is that when such thinking gets ingrained in public policy and government- it screws everybody and everything. The proof of that is already evident in the conditions that are destroying parts of California and numerous cities where the "progressive" thinkers, as they like to believe they are- have already been in power for quite a while. IF you can use your mind well, think clearly and logically for yourself- you won't be on the new left.

This view is supported by numerous aspect of our society today. For example, you hear the promise of "free" or demand for "free" things from virtually every dem candidate. They are telling people what the want to hear; and if you don't understand that nothing is actually free- you are the fish taking the bait.

Look at TV, and how often the word "free' is invoked in advertising. Look at the nature of ads.... how many revolve around suing those who have harmed you and getting what you deserve. What used to be called "ambulance chasing" is now a major industry. Look at the number of lawyers we have to deal with all this demand for "justice". The nation of Japan has 7 lawyers per 100,000 population. The nation of Great Britain is far more aggressive with litigation; they have 83, second in the world only to us. We have- 287.

 

Beat us by fifty years. And the moral majority was about identity politics and predates Reagan.
