Canada introduced healthcare 51 years ago. And the standards of living are not considered low.

It would take an awful lot of immigrants for them to become a majority in country with a population of over 327 million. Furthermore, the notion of immigrants being "invaders" is xenophobic and silly. It also must be noted that this is a nation of immigrants. Immigrants who long ago established a state on land that used to be under the control of other people, and a state that is controlled primarily by the descendants of those immigrants today. For us to be xenophobic fools about today's immigrants would be tragicomical.

Added to this, immigrants are not all from one place and not all of one mind any more than the people already living here with full citizenship rights are. Coming here and becoming citizens themselves, they simply join in our system and society and contribute to these. Why should I or anyone fear this?

As for gun ownership policies, they have nothing at all to do with tribalism. I reject your comparison to South Africa, because no one is attempting to disarm any particular group in the USA. In fact, few if any Americans, liberals included, are talking about disarming anyone in this country except convicted criminals and others who should not have access to firearms for mental health reasons. Thanks to a badly interpreted constitutional amendment and those lobbying on behalf of gun freedumb, it is too easy for would-be killers and mentally/emotionally unfit people to obtain and abuse firearms, and the high prevalence of firearms also leads to many unnecessary accidental and suicidal gun fatalities as well. You bleat about American gun laws without even experiencing them first-hand.

Well you can reject all you want... there are tens of millions of Africans and South Americans looking to migrate to America and Europe... in 2050 their population (Africa's alone.. don't know South America) will hit 2 Billion and I guarantee you at least 50% will want to migrate to either Europe or America.

You have no idea how much risk you are placing your country in by not protecting your borders

What terrible risk do those people pose? Seriously, you act like our fellow human beings born in other parts of the world are some kind of existential threat to us, and that makes no sense.

Which is precisely what is happening at present. The black-Africans seen on the news of those being rescued in the Mediterranean all issue from Central Africa. And they got on those boats/rafts/whatever in Libya - which is at present a state at war with itself.

So what becomes of them? First of all, Italy is now refusing them. Secondly, when they make it further into a European country, they will not find a job. Howzat?

The first to have escaped from the civil-war in Syria and made it to Europe were allowed to stay and some even work. (Particularly in Germany that needs the additional manpower). But those coming over lately from Africa have found no such accompaniment. They are simply housed&fed and allowed to roam the streets.

Which means that if they are in infraction of the law, that buys them a plane-ticket back to where they came (and insertion in the police database should they ever want to return) ...

Many Americans think that the rest of the world are also Americans, effectively, who just happen to speak a different language. It's a kind of naive arrogance.
But this is not true ... many cultures in the Third World are profoundly different from those in the West, and very illiberal.
According to a Pew survey of world Muslim opinion taken six years ago,
I believe that this will change over time ... certainly by the end of the century. But in the meantime, we must not be so simple as to believe that immigrating to an advanced country will instantly purge backward attitudes from the immigrants. Indeed, in a poll taken three years ago, while only one out of twenty of Britain's several million Muslims sympathyzed with suicide bombers, a majority thought homosexuality should be illegal. [ Source ] And while that 5% ( a mere hundred thousand) are perhaps not an "existential threat", these "fellow human beings born in other parts of the world" (or indeed here), can make life exciting from time to time, if one's idea of excitement is being blown to pieces while riding the subway , or attending a concert, or hacked to death while walking in the street, or run down by a car while doing the same.

The human slave trade from Africa went on for centuries, Human trafficking is really just another facet of this phenomenon, The difference being there are no European ships calling port for slaves... instead these humans are all vying for a seat on the slave trader's boat to the beautiful shores of Europe or America... shown to him on television daily...Utopia.

Prices will continue to climb as the population grow... it also means that you will have to continue to fight this battle, you block one entry they will find another one... the day you stop drugs flowing into America is the day you may convince me that you will stop human trafficking...

btw Trump's victory in obtaining funding for the wall is an important step for America... you will one day look back and shudder when you think how close you came.

It's words only, but this is NOT human slave-trade. Nobody is forcing the Africans to quit their countries.

In fact, yes, monumental corruption in those countries has allowed a select group to take charge and they simply embellish themselves at the cost of everybody else many of whom are starving. Is that out business?

Well, it should be. What-the-hell ever do we have a United Nations. For a mountain of blah-blah-blah at the UN in NYC? (We've got enough bullshit on our hands from NYC with Donald Dork ... !)

PS: Drugs are an entirely different problem. And it will surprise you to know that there is less usage amongst the poor who begin to earn decent wages. As for the affluent blacks&whites who use drugs, I wish them all the willful death they deserve!

Sadly you are wrong, the human slave trade is alive and well... even in western countries

These people suffer a terrible ordeal... even in south America many disappear into the human slave trade. Liberals who run on emotion then want to fling the gates open to hep them not realising that it will not stop... it will only engulf you and steal your children's future.

Liberals who want to help should try to solve the problem at the source... and good luck to them

    This article seems rather stupid.

How compatible is life with oxygen?

    Capitalism is democracy.
